Come on. He's NEVER a genius. Larsson was as close to a genius; Messi is a genius; Cristiano is a genius. McCourt is a decent player that has no stamina.

He's a luxury player at most. One we should punt if we get a decent offer.

The reason people love him is because' of what he supposedly represents.

Seems like this same argument is brought up every two weeks here, the bottom line is all top quality teams have to have quality to bring off the bench.

I would play Paddy every week. He would be on the left for me before Ledley. I can understand when everyone is fit and Lennon picks Brown and commons. It means we are a faster paced team going forward. Paddy likes to take his time and dribble past players and it does slow the game down at times.

I think that he is suffering as Forrest is clearly a favouriet of Lennon. nothing wrong with that, everyone has their favourites. Although for me Paddy brings far more to the team.

A Catholic NI man from Derry playing for Celtic. If he was Scottish I doubt he'd have the same applause from some of the fans.

A "*", if you believe the song.

That's horseshit. Most people love Paddy for his ability with the football. I'm a Catholic from NI and i hate all that sectarian nonsense.

You asked! Shaun Maloney is a similar player yet he gets next to no plaudits.

    It isn't really.

No offence Jay but Maloney doesn't have as much skill as Paddy. I like Maloney but he's not as talented.

It is really! There is no way that I would ever clap a player because of the country of their birth. Why would I clap louder if McCourt was Irish and not Scottish? You are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 22.68. You are just saying cause the Celtic fans sing that song about him.

So in essence Celtic fans have a clapometer that bases our claps and cheers and cheers depending on where the player comes from? So if Kayal scores how loud would I clap then? He is Israeli and thats a country that doesnt neccessarily appeal to a lot of Celtic fans political views. So would we boo him?

I like Paddy because he is a pure entertainer. He can do things with the ball that I could only dream of doing and I would pay just to see him every week. He is one of the most exciting players I have seen at Cp and I hope that he stays and gets a run in the team. If he came from Mars I couldnt care. He is a cracking footballer

I'm just saying it how I see it...I'm also not the only person that says this.

I'm not denying he's a decent footballer (I actually enjoy his occasional cameo), I'm just saying people think what I've said and I agree with it mostly.

There are some people who associate Paddy with that "*" stuff but the VAST majority of people who admire him do so for the right reasons, as outlined by Tim above.

    It's probably debatable.

Anyway, I'd shift McCourt if we got an offer of 600k or more. Would be good business for us.

Not based on that performance today, it wouldn't. We never looked like penetrating Aberdeen's defence and Paddy could have made a difference. If we sell him, that's one less option when we're struggling to break down the opposition.

He's been here 2-3 seasons now and hasn't been a first pick and rarely gets off the bench if he even makes that. That says it all.

The honeymoon period for him is wel and truly over and if he were to go for the right price I'd be happy.

He's also very greedy, I think.

What's the point in selling him unless you can get someone better for the money which is highly unlikely. I agree that he is greedy. However, Lennon doesn't always make the right decisions either.

No manager does. But this is his 3rd manager while at Celtic and he's never been a regular, so, to me, that indicates that he is and always will be a bit-part player and that he clearly isn't good enough for the first team.

As I said, the honeymoon's over for him and his background makes him a bit of a cheerleader for large elements of our support.
