Sadly I feel our name is just being linked to generate interest. I really worry for our striking options and overall creativity in the squad, I think Piatti would certainly help improve us.

Would take Piatti in a second. The creative spark that we are crying out for, he has it. However, I can't help but feel this is pie in the sky, and he won't be pulling on the Hoops.

For an extra million you get Todor Nedelev and he really, really is a Moravcik in the making.

Pathetic thinking, this is why we're technically worse than most teams we play in europe

It's not a pathetic way of thinking! Were technically worse than most teams when were playing them in eurpoe because the SPL is'nt a tecnically gifted league!! Dont get me wrong I would love to have Piatti on our team because he is a very very good player! I've watched him for many a year and watched his progress and you really dont have a notion as to how easily he gets pushed off the ball. The English game has everything in it, The spanish game is fast and quick short passing and suits Piatti's style, The Italian league is slow where players get alot of space and time on the ball, The Scottish league is pyshical where opposing teams like to play alot of long balls and when playing us tend to try sit deep not allowing creative players to flourish. People mention Moravcik, but he was bigger, stronger, vastly experienced from his time in france and germany and on the international scene so he was a very smart footballer. People seem to forget similar type players like Eyal Berkovic and Juninho during there time here although in fairness juninho was played out of position alot!!

So please dont be slating me saying thats the wrong way of thinking because i would love for him to be here but i just dont see him fitting in and settling. The only thing thats pathetic is the likes of you, Your way of thinking reminds me of Tony Mowbray while he was here

Would be a quality signing but probably won't happen.

i dont really think theyre as comparable to this situation. berkovic had a lot of stuff to deal with during his time here, the hearts match being a good example allthough i still think he did a fairly decent job. and with juninho, as you already mentioned he was played out of position a lot but he was also on a downward trajectory in his career. he was never the same player after his big injury, even the middlesborough fans would say that about his second spell there

piatti is 24, and still improving and could still adapt his game suit us. his short passing style would still fit in to our play for a lot of matches (not all matches, granted). i dont agree with with you on how easily he gets pushed off the ball....for a player of his stature and in a league well known for players going down easy, i think he takes knocks and stays on his feet more than some

im not saying he would definitely be a success, but i dont think he should be discounted for the reasons your stating because i dont think they are necessarily true

Just piggybacking on a lot of other comments on this thread, would love him to come here, but I just can't see it coming off.

I just read an article which says that PAOK wants to sign him. That would be an excellent move, but why Celtic cant pick him?

I used to play football you see, so i can analyze the techniques a bit better.
Stats are all up on transfermarkt. You can go through season by season, tells you quite a lot about them.

Finding players is easy, signing them is another story altogether.
