As much as I like Piatti and raved on about how good he was to people a few years ago i just dont think he would suit Scottish football, He's like a poor man's messi, just as neat and skilful but extremely lightweight

Cant stand this way of thinking, he's exactly the kind of player we need more of and he would run rings round the utter pish defences in the SPL

Signed a 5 year contract in 2011 from Almería to Valencia, for a fee of €7.5 million.

Spent 3 seasons at Almería, all in La Liga - 110 matches, 23 goals and 12 assists with them.

Hasn't been as impressive with Valencia although still good - 66 matches, 7 goals and 9 assists.

Not had very many starts at Valencia, only 35 of his 66 appearances at Valencia are starts.

It's not out of the question that we could get him.

The wee man is a great player. First one we've been linked with that I'd be ecstatic if we signed. Unfortunately can't see it happening though.

:56: You're worse than the huns thinking that he controls the SPL etc.

That's one of the reservations I had about us signing Gary Mackay-Steven but players can always bulk up. Commons is excellent at using his body and low centre of gravity to shield the ball against players with a more imposing physique. I know he's a wee bit taller but the point stands. :50:

Too many people think like that. If your good enough it doesnt matter what height, weight or size you are. The SPL is never going to improve if scouts, coaches and managers think like this. We need more technical, skillful players to grace our pitches and make us want to go see them in person and watch them strut their stuff.

Would love to see this guy sign as a poor mans messi is a rich mans paddy mccourt for us and I would pay to watch him week in week out !

Hope there is substance to this

Yes. He reminds me of a poor man's Messi. I'd take him in a heartbeat but I'm not sure if he would come. It would definitely hinge on Champions League qualification.

He'll stay in Spain. Would love to see him here though.

Seems players don't want to leave Spain, regardless of money etc.. David Villa .. £25m or so to Spurs, it gets knocked back for an all in £5m move to Atletico at the last minute. Says it all really.

Spurs were never paying 25 million for Villa.
