There was one game in early pre-season last year when he looked fabulous. I took a keen interest in him but he never repeated that performance - nowhere near - including in at least one game for the 1st team. Since then the level of players in his position has gone through the roof so he'd have to improve out of sight, all of a sudden, to have a future at Celtic.

    Good luck to him.

If Kyogo was born in Scotland / England .... would he have had the opportunities / platforms to thrive, i doubt it. japan are massive into coerver it runs from baby kicks right into first team pro football - craig beattie is taken over a young kyogo ... hopefully the academy systems are now more open to talent identification and being patient. you always wonder if kids like wee dembele - how things could be do different if he was less exposed etc.. same applies for vata. just to get make a debut for a club is a hugh honour, as is your first assist, goal... international cap and goal etc.. such a small window of opportunity which is often through luck to make the breakthrough.. a change in management / covid etc can come in quick and wreck a lifetime waiting for that small window.

Scored twice last night for Dunfermline on loan from Blackpool. Looks about 40 and he’s 21. I guess that’s what a year in Blackpool and 3 months in Fife will do to you.

Get this thread binned to Ex-Players btw.
