Celtic and QPR have expressed an interest in Liverpool left-back Owen Beck.

It’s believed Celtic would like a permanent move this summer, while QPR would prefer a loan.

A number of other English Championship clubs are also keen on the 21-year-old.

Sky Sports News understands Liverpool are open to offers for Beck, but would expect their valuation to be met if he was to leave on a permanent transfer.

A decision on Beck’s future will be made when the club return from their pre-season tour of the USA next week.

The Wales U21 international spent last season on loan at Dundee. He was recalled by Liverpool on January 2 to provide cover for the injured Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

Celtic were keen on Beck in the January transfer window, but that fell through after Beck featured for Liverpool in a match against Bournemouth.

FIFA rule stipulate that players are not able to play for more than two teams each season.

Beck subsequently rejoined Dundee on loan for the rest of the season.

Celtic are keen to sign a left-back to provide competition for Greg Taylor. The Hoops have been unsuccessful in their approach for Wolves’ Hugo Bueno but retain an interest in the Spain U21 international.

It means Celts could be forced to look towards their alternatives and Owen Beck is back on that list. Football Scotland can reveal the Hoops - who are yet to officially make a move for the defender this summer - are monitoring the ex-Dundee loanee's movements with EFL Championship clubs looking for a loan deal. Sources have indicated to us that Beck has numerous offers on the table and clubs have given a deadline of the beginning of next week for his decision. That could mean the Glasgow giants would have to make their swoop - a permanent fee being paid - over the weekend

His stats from a defensive perspective aren't that great.

I don't think he instantly displaces Taylor. Which is my issue. There has to be better options available.

As I said, unless we signed him and someone else e.g. an experienced player like Borna Sosa, I'm not keen. Sadly we don't have that kind of ambition.

LB targets all seem to stem from last season, which we haven't moved the needle at all on...

Absolute novices that deal with our recruitment!

Our whole team was all over them though tbf fair mate, lads running off the ball n dragging others everywhere everytime beck probably had to defend against Yang he’d have Johnstone supporting or someone else running in behind to worry about aswell. Hard to judge someone on a game like that when our whole team was completely dominating.

Hypothetical situation, we are playing Rangers this weekend instead of Killie.
    Beck or Taylor at LB?:39:
If that's in any way a hard decision, he's not (yet) good enough for us.

The very reason we lose talented youths. Maybe he's not now, give him the game, and he improves. Start of next season he's suddenly better than taylor and still improving. We have a strong side, having 1 talented youth playing per game wont effect it while developing a better player in the long run. Remember, without ronny, kieren Tierney doesn't get that chance to develop.

He is nowhere near a £4m player, tbh didn't impress me at all 2nd time around.

We've let far better players leave Scotland for way less, Hickey and Doig as examples.

It's just a typical project and confirms taylor unimpeded for huns and European games.

Obviously we're only going on his 1 season here. Surely he's been developing down south since then? So should actually be better again now.

I have no idea of the answer, but did Doig or Hickey have a better season in our league than Beck?

Admittedy I'm not very good at this, but after a quick look, I think the real answer is no, they never had more goal contributions in the SPFL.

I think there's a bit of an agenda against Beck because of one game and also it's used as a stick to batter our scouting. Same could have been said for Hickey or Doig.

I didn't see it with Doig, tbh.

Hickey I came round to the idea. They both improved ten fold once moving though. We just didn't take the chance on them. Beck could easily be similar with regular football and under a top coach tbf.

Is Doig even good or is he a myth cause he plays in Italy? half the teams in Italy are dross, like if you watch Sassuolo against whoever Genoa, Verona, Lecce, Monza other bottom end team the standard is poor, they have mediocre big defenders and strikers that are more like English Championship teams. Burnley would probably have leathered most of the teams in the bottom half of Seria A.

Arguably for stronger teams, although they were younger.
