£8m isn't that much of a risk, * we've spent £1.5m on Ciftci and over £3m I believe is is on Jozo this season so it's hardly a risk spending that extra few million on a better calibre of player.

With the Boards interfering on the Management by giving Collins the oppertunity to be Assistant Manager my philosophy is if Deila gets sacked Collins will move up.

It would be fantastic to get in a proven Manager with full autonomy regarding Management and Transfers. I don't see this happening at all because there is too much intervention from the Board.

When Roy Keane is stating in his Book that the contract he was offered from Lawwell just doesn't feel right as there was lots of clauses in it, its accurate to assume we will get the one of the cheapest Managers available.

    This will be John Collins.

I think people would end up hating him, which would ruin his name here. I dont think the board would back him the way that they did in the noughties and the result could be diasterous.

I understand what you've been saying mate. I just can't believe that professional footballers can be so bad. I understand and like Deila's philosophy and it would be a breath of fresh air should it materialise. Defensively, it is just ridiculously amateurish. So amateurish that I do not think you could blame the manager. It ultimatley is down to poor players and that comes from very poor investment (or more likely lack of it).

Our team is in an exponential decline when you consider our team last season to the gash we have now (Matthews, Denayer, VVD, Guidetti). This only is going to continue as we fail in Europe.

Some people are saying that we have a squad better than the Scandinavian teams? I don't think we are better than them at all. The market that we shop in is buying similar standard players for a lot more. The market we shop in means there is a lack of differential quality between a £300,000 player who may sign for Malmo and a £1,5m player who signs for us because we both shop in very similar markets.

Do you mean when he took charge in 65. His family turned their back on him. He didn't walk away because of that. Makes him as big a fan of the club than anyone else surely!

Fucksake maybe even he could even win the domestic league. Who knows.

Its no real measure of a manager anymore. Not without a real competitor.

Input? Maybe for Sevco and Lies.

He thinks its a vindication to empathise Sevcos failures to our competition. Then finds the insanity to state we are better than last year, I mean DD must be right we got turned over by Molde Home and Away so obviously were better than last year.

Maybe we should get real and notice that his handicap is more important.

I think this is a huge point. People keep looking at it quantatively financially and saying we spend more, therefore we should be better. Thats naive to an extreme.

ALL of the players we've picked up for a few million a pop would be sold for about 500k in the Scandinavian leagues. They only sell for a couple of million to the uk leagues, where there's considered to be money to burn. We get burned for not being anything like the EPL, while getting loaded with the negatives of cost and expectations.

It drives me mad to be compared to teams for what we/they spend. It's such a blinkered view of a team. Molde are a far better unit than we are, because they have a better shape, plan and structure - with everyone knowing their part and playing it well. It's not sexy, but it's effective. To hear people dismissing them for financial reasons alone is pathetic

This thread is one of a number of reasons why I believe Ronny should not go.

    * Lambert, Pearson, Mjallby and even Lennon. What a complete embarrassment of suggestions, every single one of them.

What Makes Ronny a better option than them? Maribor, Legia Warsaw, Malmo, Molde.

Will we qualify for the CL next season if Ronny Deila is in the dugout? I can't see how we'll do it. I really can't.

    Lambert - failure.
    Pearson - delusional nutjob.
Mjallby - a right hand man with no CV.
Lennon - people suggesting we're going backwards then wanting our previous Manager languishing in the Championship with Bolton.

    Do me a * favour.

????? Neil was MILES better of a manager on the European stage than this guy is.

I liked him. I still do. But he isn't the man for Celtic, right now. In fact that breaks my heart to say. I thought he had a lot of spirit and seemed to begin to really love this club and its fans. But he wasn't ready to manage a club like Celtic in European competition.

Only one name off that list would have me sit up, but he wouldn't take the job imo. The reason Lenny left was for off the field stuff.
