    Rodgers is near enough a carbon copy of Deila in many ways too, except the fact he'd never come here and if he did, he'd demand a power of money no doubt.


    I forgot one of my options actually, infact the only one.

    If Deila is to go, I want Murat Yakin. Done brilliantly with Basel in Europe and knows the pressure of being at the best club in a country and having to win every week. Still young, plays good football and knows about Celtic...out of a job too.

    I wouldn't want this to put us off going abroad again.

    i am so blind and dumb for the guy, i would still say henrik, not taking anything else into it, and then he * it and i will never hate him,
    can you imagine the ronny till i die fans backing henrik, give him time haha.

    He would be an interesting appointment.

    I would have loved us to get Slaven Bilic. He's a bit of a character and definitely has something about him as a manager. There was talk on here of us being linked with him in the past but I don't know if it was ever a real possibility. That ship has sailed now anyway. :54:

    Yakin was paid £25k a week at Basel - we would never pay that, even MON was only paid £20k a week. At Spartak I think it was about £27k. Ronny is on about £5k a week in comparison.

    Could we tempt someone like that here for pennies? With the funds at his disposal aswell. I know he's unemployed but I don't think it would do anything for is credentials now aswell. And the pay packet nor the budget will incentivise him.

    I think we need to pay a decent wage to get a good manager. We can't afford 4 or 5 players in the 5m price bracket, so if you can't afford the best musicians, at least get a good conductor to get a decent tune out of the mediocre musicians that you can afford.

    I think we could've got him when we ended up with Mowbray. He might have taken the job at the time, he would've been a perfect fit.

    I like Deila as a character, but he's woefully inept defensively, not good enough at all. If we fail to beat Ajax to keep the EL alive I think we should replace him at the end of the EL Group phase.

    Can we just close this thread no point in it just now. Ronny will be here till the end of the season and barring him not getting the double at least he'll still be here for the CL qualifiers. Unless he walks which I don't think he will do.

    Winning the treble for the first time in 14 years would be a great achievement.
