Sacking Ronny just now with Collins stepping up would be * stupid. Will only cause more harm to us at them moment, the players have been backing Ronny and saying it's their fault etc. It's not as simple as sacking him just now, there has to be a plan not just a knee * sacking.
If the players and board back him then he won't be sacked. Only way he goes just now is if he walks.

The last year and a bit have made me realise just what * position we are in.

I remember before Deila was appointed we were all making suggestions - managers from all over the joint. Creative suggestions with good up and coming managers.

Michael Skibbe, Murat Yakin, Besnik Hasi, Michel Preud'homme.

I honestly don't believe we could get any of them - none.

What * would we be delivered if Deila left?

*, I even suggested Juande Ramos - as did a few others. :56:

Rangers have 33 points out of 36 and have an enormous budget in comparison.

He's rattled teams out the cup and is still in the title race. Don't know how much more you can ask.

While we are talking about possible managers, I don't want an ex player, Lennon won't be coming back, Lambert can't get a job anywhere down South, Sutton is not a manager, Larsson is still way early on in his management career.

Alex Neil would be my preference, he fits the bill for us.

    No chance of Alex Neill.

Why should 'not being able to get a job down south' rule somebody out?

It's just as big a risk to take on someone that either doesn't want a job or can't get one. He said he would never manage here anyway.

Alex Neil isn't going to come here. Imagine PL trying to negotiate the compensation as well.

Larsson has been bang average in his 2 jobs so far. I couldn't give him the job based on what he did as a player here.

Not a "chickens chance in Thailand" of Alex Neil coming here

We shouldn't look to England at all.

It's *. The top league has the best of the best all up in the top 6, a few class managers scattered around, a few dumplings who go from one job the next and then donkeys. All with huge budgets.

Championship is much of a muchness. Anything lower - embarrassment.

All dying to get in or stay in the EPL, no matter how they do it and more often than not the football can be dry and dismal. It's not even that which bothers me but just the 'I'd rather not lose, than win' mentality fostered among the managers down there.

Far too critical too and the whole footballing culture means managers are forced down a certain route or lambasted and ridiculed far too easily.

We still have to look abroad in my opinion.

Depends how his season goes at Norwich, in EPL managers don't last long who are in the bottom half of the table or relegation battles.

When did I say I want Stubbs ?

I said he's an interesting shout as he's cut the budget, knocked several SPL teams out the cup and is keeping up with a financially superior Rangers team.

Wee things like changing his formation to suit his players is a big positive in my opinion.

So he could afford to take a pay cut then? I think if he was offered the job he would at least consider it.

It's not knee-* tho.. There has been a consistent run of shambolic European tactical cluster * with no learning shown and no ability to change a game with a tweak in personnel or formation.

We need to sack him now before long term damage is done. He can't get a reaction from the players when we need it in Europe.

And his signings have looked very poor indeed and may even be regressing in Armstrong and GMS particularly.

If he was to be sacked now it would be anything but knee-*..

Odd situation though. Like has there been any other team to sack a manager who is top of the league and going for a treble?

Sorry i meant to stick a ? at the end.
You clearly think he is a good enough manager other wise you would not be defending him and his team.

George Burley got sacked top of the league and im sure the dead huns did it to Scott Symon and Davie White, one of the two definately got sacked for losing to 3-1 Gornik in a cup winners cup game whilst top of the league

I think we're in a unique situation though.
