Aye he sounds great and he's got loads of European experience too. I just don't now if we can afford someone of that calibre.

Well to be fair I doubt there are many of us who have played for an EPL winning side and a Uefa cup finalist. That experience makes him more qualified to be a coach but he must have coaching badges too. Anyway as I said I'm not fussed if he was assisstant, the main factor in any position we fill should be experience and qualifications, being impassioned about the club should be a low priority although it's always nice. Lenny for instance, I think his love of Celtic helped bring us some wonderful results. His celebrations for Karagandy and Barca were priceless :icon_mrgreen:

But why would Lenny come back, not only the hatred he has to put up with here, isn't the club in the same situation it was that made him leave? I mean I don't know exactly what it was but it must still be the same.

You're possibly right. Or Paul is, for that matter. It is a * of a lot to put yourself through just to be manager of this club.

But we need someone of a similar mould. He had his flaws but I think (despite what other say) we played great football under Lennon, we did pretty well in Europe and he had a good record in the transfer market.

Lennon would come back here in a heartbeat IMO. Thankfully the Board aren't silly enough to sack Deila for the guy he succeeded.

I reckon Lennon will be back but I don't think it will be any time soon.

Genuine question, to anyone. Just quoting this as it's relevant to my questions.

How much do you reckon we pay RD or paid NL ?

How much do people think a good, experienced manager expects to get paid ?

Is it worth the risk paying a higher wage for a manager than it going towards players ?

For instance. Say we took a risk and hired someone who has managed at a high level before but he had to work with the current bunch of players, deal in free transfers, loans etc. Would you rather go down that route than taking a gamble on someone like Larsson and allowing him a better, although not great, budget ?

I wouldn't mind Brendan Rogers as our next manager although he signed some amount of * when he was at Liverpool.

He was 1/5 of the decision making process.

I don't see what going from Deila to Rodgers does though, both are attack focussed development minded ideologists. The only difference is Deila has national Titles on his CV and with an extremely unfancied Club.

Really ? you think with the huns due back in the top flight next season he'd want to go back to to all the hassle he endured first time around.

I couldn't be more certain he would walk back to Parkhead tomorrow over broken glass.

One of my mates said Pearson to me. I had to laugh and wouldn't touch him! Part of the problem is who would want the job? Would Rodgers really want the Job?

Brendan Rodgers? I'd be happy enough if he were to be the man we ended up with, but I'd prefer someone who is gonna stick a rocket up the arses of some of these players.

Need someone who can rally players, motivate them and get the team spirit going.

At the end of the day this is not great but they need the mentally back, that mentally that gave us such a good home record in games we had no right to win.

Larsson is way off being ready, not really impressed in Sweden this season has he?

I would be very surprised Rogers would want to manage in Scotland..

For the money we would be offering..

You guys are deluded if you think Rodgers will come here. Was on 3.25m a year at liverpool

Wasn't he the man who said he'd walk to Parkhead for the job?

Plus, he's not on 3.25m a year just now, eh?
