Think it was Jeannie that said it in one of the threads elsewhere, but this board are wanting to close the gap between us and Rangers because they think the real money is to be made out of the 'Old Firm'. They'll be wrong by the way, when the quality is so poor between us and them and we can't get anywhere near the CL group stages, Celtic Park will be empty.

Hendry was brought as raw talent for future, not sure he would of planned to have him at this level so quick.

One of his ambitions will be to smash that * Gerrard. If there is one guy he won’t want to get one over on him it will be that *.
Our board seem keen to let them try and close the gap so no wonder he’s not happy.

I don't know why but I think that we will still do it. I think Brendan will come up with a plan and besides we have nothing to lose now but to just go for it. We're more than capable of getting 2 goals over there. The board know that if we fail we stand to lose a heck of a lot more money than they require to back Brendan.

Don't you see that will be their new excuse?
"Well ehhhhh we can't spend that £30million we have sitting in the bank as we might no qualify for the Champions League now!"

And thinks he is a better right back than Gamboa. Brendan has a brilliant eye for attack, but hasn't a clue about defenders

    * the Europa league tickets. People need to boycott those games and hurt the greedy bastrads where it hurts. I realise it will never happen but seems to be all they're interested in

The Europa league is worth £12m to us in terms of Payments from UEFA if we are the only Scottish team in the group stage or it dwindles to £9m if another Scottish team are in it. If we can sell say 30'000 x 3 match packages at £99 That's Just short of £3m so that's roughly half of what the UCL would have paid us in previous seasons so Celtic would still run at a profit but we couldn't squirrel that extra £10m us we have done for the last 2 season's away in the bank to our board that's all that matters though.

I want to smash * out lawwell, bankier and congerton right now they are 3 stoogies the absurd arrogant *!

They wouldn't spend 30 million anyway :56:but maybe a chance of 10 :50: Yes I'm sceptical with regard to board investment too but do any of us really know what's going on here?

Get signings made in January bed them in for Europe

Sign nobody of note ah well we wont overpay in January

We'll make signings after the 1st qualifier

We'll make signings after the 2nd qualifier

We'll make signings after the 3rd qualifier

We're in the group stage thats the aim anything now is a bonus

    And we're back to January

Spot on. I spent 2 months working in Liverpool last year and met quite a lot of Anfield regulars. The vast majority were decent folk who know their football and have a lot of time for BR (contrary to what the Huns like to say). However, it was the same story from pretty much all of them - BR definitely has an eye for attackers and midfielders - I think almost much everyone he has brought to Celtic has been OK apart from the kid from Ipswich - even Kouassi I think is potentially a great player.

However, his record with defenders is very poor - the only quality being Kolo who he brought to both Liverpool and us.

It took Klopp a while to sort the defence out but, once he did, Liverpool have improved massively. The only Rogers defender still playing semi-regularly for Liverpool is Lovren and the fans aren't too keen on him.

I understand people's frustration with PL but I don't think we can blame him here. BR bought Gamboa but never plays him, he bought Compper (enough said) and he was very keen even in public about Hendry.

Being a realist, I think we are out of the ECL now. I think the board have been ridiculous in their transfer dealings. However, to be honest, even if BR were given the funds - I don't think he'd spend them on a top class CH who can clear the ball. He's very stubborn about playing out from the back and seems to want to persist with players - even when they are letting him down.

I honestly think we need to make contingency plans for the 19/20 season - I'm certain that this will be BR's last season with us - frankly, if a decent size English club makes an approach in the next few months - I think he'd be willing to listen

Not a clue, I hope not. All I know is we've been chasing john mcginn the entire window when anyone could see we needed a RB and a CB. I think both brendan and the board are to blame for that one.
