Thing is: Lennon has came out and said in public that he wants someone to fight for the #1 with Zaluska, not replace him.

Regardless, my point still stands (and looks to be the most common opinion judging by this thread) that this 'keeper shambles has dragged on for too long.

I am more than happy with Neil Lennon at the helm, but I question the board more often than not and this is one of those times.

It's not always the Board's fault, the coaching staff have to take some of the blame.

We buy, develop & keep too many mediocre players.

When a decent/good player moves on - we seldom have a willing replacement ready to step in & so have to search for one, within budget & then convince them to come to the SPL, while they may possibly be getting offers from the Championsip or even the EPL.

O'Dea is a Celtic product, we've kept him hanging on for far too long - same with McGowan.

Hooiveld, Rasmussen, Thomson, McGinn etc... are taking up money & it's not their fault - but we have to move them on 1st, before we can seriously expect us to make any moves in the transfer market.

If we were to sell Izzy, we've no decent replacement even anywhere remotely close to stepping into the 1st team - look at pre-season LB...Twadzik, it's not even his real position - so we'd look at Mulgrew or Ledley like last season.

We really need to plan much further ahead & then we won't be scraping about looking for signings as much.

The Huns have Alexander, to back up McGregor & have had for a long time.

Hopefully Lenny is sorting this out, with signings like Wanyama & Mathews. Young guys with a real bright future - who can actually step into the 1st team & develop.

Im convinced Lenny knows Zaluska isn't no.1 material for this club - yet that would make the ponderous and lack of activity on this position the more frustraiting.

Right. So here we are again. We missed Sandomierski for a few hundred K; a Polish international at 21 and highly coveted among several decent clubs across the continent.

His sell-on would probably eclipse the initial money shelled out for him but do we get him? No.

Do you think the board are looking at the monkeys money crisis across the water and thinking:

"They're no spending anything so we will hold off again to see what they do...that way we can probably still win the league and cut costs!"

    ?

    I do.

Bollox a load of bullshit with this lenny must have faith in zaluska and in lenny we trust face facts this is a complete lack of forward thinking from the board why would we go in for a keeper with a well under value bid knowing its going to get well rejected and all this good business is totall bollox also if we are having to watch the funds to a degree of 300/400k then there is something totally wrong !!!! lenny wanted the polish keeper we can not afford it or the borad is not willing to spend .
If we want to make some money we have to spend we need the spl then a half decent run in the CL to do this we need a few better players not milloin of pounds worth but a little spending this shows a total lack of ambition from the club we will stand still !!!

Personally I lost all faith in our board two seasons ago when we only bought Willo Flood during the January transfer window, since then Rangers have won the SPL championship and our home attendance dropped from 60,000 down to 48,000.

I don't trust Peter Lawwell or Dermot Desmond at all, yes they want the supporters to put their hands into their pockets for season tickets and various mechandise from the club shops, but isn't time Mr Desmond " Multi-Millionnaire " Desmond came across with some real investment in the team.

It was great to see the likes of Larsson, Lubo, Hartson, Sutton, Lennon etc the other night, but our board will never pay wage packets like their's every again, yet the price of match tickets keep going up.

Losing out on this young Polish keeper to a Belgian club is embarrassing, but it yet another case of penny-pinching by our board !!!

If we dont have the money to spend then its always gonna come down to signing players late in the transfer window.

The board are playing a dangerous game they are banking on the fans loyalty but if we finish second again to a very poor huns team on and off the park the fans will vote with there feet. The club have spent virtually nothing in signings at a time when the league is there for the taking with just a couple of decent signings yet the board still expect the fans to fork out for season tickets and two new strips.

Is there any scope at all for getting someone to grill Lawwell about these farcical transfer windows?

Last season they did those Q&A sessions. If they did them again, I would hope that serious questions are asked. Like where is the money for Aiden gone when we were promised it would all be reinvested:87:. Remembering that a lot of our signings last season were already here before he left.

Sad thing is mate that a lot of fans still buy their bullshit. Some people think the club is above criticism no matter what.

I have every confidence in the Celtic Board and Neil Lennon. As for Zaluska, he is more than capable of keeping goal in the SPL.

No it didn't. We had already brought in most of signings last year by the time Aiden was sold.

We haven't been outspent by the huns. They have spent £3m but sold Bougherra for £1.7m and got money from Charlie Adams transfer to Liverpool leaving a net spend of about £300k.

We may have only signed three players but I think they have been good signings that improve our squad.

I, like all fans, would like to see us spend money on real quality but we simply don't have the resources to compete for top players. There is still about three weeks to go in this window and im confident we will get the goalkeeper and striker we need. However, just as important is getting rid of the vast amount of deadwood we have and hopefully recoup some money for them whilst we do it.

No need for panic. The board and lennon with get it right
