100% agree, if we were solid at the back we would be walking this league

    Really??

    Did we?

I seem to remember going to Ibrox and getting mauled 4-0 and press conferences in pubs, we gained nothing from sacking Barnes in Febuary if he had stayed till end of the season we would still have got o'neill in the summer.

How many crossed balls into our box has mowbray failed to head clear this year?

How many guilt edged chances has Mowbray failed to score this season?

Celtic do have the best players in the league but they dont have the best team as yet ,Tony Mowbray took a huge gamble by off loading a few first team players and buying replacements who are expected to fit straight into the fold .

Through time i see a good team coming out of this squad but for now they are only getting to understand each other and then it will click but the league hasnt gone by a long shot but i would say that the main mistake was made by making so many changes in January when there is no league break and i would say Tony Mowbray should have went for 2 maybe 3 players tops and then look at the summer.

    Not really mate.

From August till Febuary his only players where Fox, N'Guemo and Fortune.

Fox was injured as often as he was fit, wasn't great but was an improvement on Naylor.
N'guemo has probably been our best player
Fortune was injured for 3 months

So essentially he was forced to go with Strachan's duds. It's been McManus, Loovens, Caldwell and Samaras that have cost us most this season.

It's been Mowbrays team for 4 games. Killie half of them only met the day before, pumped Dunfermline n Hearts then was forced to play Aberdeen minus 3 of his first choice 4 defenders. So not exactly his team yet.

The thing that irritates me is that most of the changes Tony Mowbray has made have been the same changes that the fans wanted. Yet people still slag him off.

People wanted a new left back - Tony Mowbray went and got one.
People wanted an aggressive centre-back - Hooiveld has the reputation of being that.
People wanted a penalty box striker - Tony Mowbray went and got one.
People wanted a marquee signing - We brought in Robbie Keane.

Now that he has done all these things, certain people won't even have the decency to give him the time to try and mould all these new players into a team. What the * is the point in letting a manager bring in a whole raft of new players then sacking him 4 weeks later? That's just stupidity.

This team is still a work in progress. I know some people on here don't want to hear it, and have already made their minds up, but patience is what is needed at the moment. If Tony Mowbray can't make a team out of all these new players he's brought in then that will be the time to judge him. It's too soon to get rid of him and he still has my backing.

I disagree, bad defending (Caldwell,McManus,O'dea,Loovens) - all players Mowbray didn't bring in. Hooiveld hasn't played enough for us to judge him properly yet and Braafheid had a bright start excluding the Aberdeen game. So the majority of defensive errors have came from players he hasn''t brought in.

Before January we had to play both Fortune and Samaras up front, Fortune was doing his part of the partnership and Samaras just wasn't finishing the majority of the time. Mowbray brought in Fortune to play along side a goal scorer, he's only been able to bring in goal scorers this window (Kamara & Keane). Before that McDonald wasn't at his best (not Mowbrays signing) and then injured and Samaras (not Mowbrays signing) was missing guilt edged chances.

I'm not saying Mowbray has the defence organised well. I'm saying the players guilty for most of our defensive blunders this season and lack of finishing off good chances - have NOT been Mowbrays players.

I can't understand all of this anti Mowbray talk. If he thought we had a decent defence then I think we'd have a problem. He has brought in a new centre half and if what we here is to be believed was trying very hard to get another one in January. He knows the problem and I believe he'll be going all out to remedy it if he's given the chance in the next window. What is the point of letting a manager bring in his own players then sacking him to begin the process again?

I'm not saying he'll definately get it right (all though I think and hope he will) but let's give him a fair crack at the whip.

Luck is a massive thing as well - look at the huns. If Glen Loovens had picked them instead of us they would never have signed Boughera.

all jokes aside (my i"ll do it" comment on another thread), i think mobray has done ok, hes brought in quite a few number of talented players, for that i salute him

but he needs to get off the friggin bench playin with his hair, he needs to be a figure that motivates his team to win,

on a side note, i dont think its ridiculous to not like him, but to want to sack him right now is insane, and as for wanting to sell mcgeady? * off, ive said it before, dyuzz want celtic to be a seeder club? hope not, attitudes like that aint helpin no1

ive also noticed people blaming odea for our losses a couple times, again, not one man makes or breaks a team

    Too late

They should of sacked him before the new year. Before he could make the team any worse. Now hes sold skippy, disaster. Celtic wont get a better finisher than him these days. At least when John Barnes was in charge they sacked him before he sold larsson. Not that he is as good as larsson but hes the best we'll get. Even Rangers had more sense by sacking le guen before he sold Boyd!

Still backing the big man ! Want to see our first choice 11 out there and settled. We will pump teams big style ! TM has no luck, brings in all those attacking options and the defence goes * up with injury ! Where are all those who shouted for Caddis and O Dea not so long ago ? Sssssshhh ! Not good enough ! I will give big Tony till halfway through next season. We'll see !
