Actually, Mioduski said that in similar situation Legia would co-operate with Celtic to make sure they qualified, according to the UEFA slogan "we care about football" not "we care about paperwork".

Are you for real? They knew and they brought him on for 4 minutes, when the score was 6-1? Come on, this is ridiculous.

Nobody questions this. The problem is that the punishment is greatly disproportionate, but this was discussed umpteen times (even in this thread), so I suppose we will have to agree to disagree on this.

    They really are desperate now.

Wonder if they would offer a one-off match if they were in our position - would they *.

Just seen on sky sports. Celtic respond by saying they are disappointed with legia comments and it's up to uefa.

No, Legia wouldn't offer a one-off match. We would just follow the UEFA rule that says...

... thus making sure that the team that won 6-1 (in this case Celtic) would qualify and not get kicked out for an irrelevant clerical mistake. It's a case of "which team deserved to qualify"--and we would acknowledge that it was Celtic who f*cked us in every possible hole winning 6-1.

At least that's what Legia's chairman claims.

    True.

So the rules are fine but the punishment should be based on different factors like........

What was the score at the time....
How long the player played for.....
How good was he and did he affect the result.....
Did the admin staff who made the mistake have nice *.....

You do understand the total and unworkable mess this would create.

    I'm not picky.
Just what I was thinking. Very easy to say that now to add on to the "Celtic are being unfair" line. Unreal how they are doing their best to make Celtic out as the bad guys in all of this when it was THEIR *-up!

The bottom line is that there is no way in * that Legia would even entertain giving up the spot to let us progress if the roles were reversed, and anyone who believes that is a mug.

And do you truly believe he would turn down the chance for CL and 15 million.
Any chairman costing his employer 15 million would not be chairman for very long.

They only have themselves to blame. They * up and it's cost them their dream. It's not in any way, shape or form, Celtic's fault.

Mioduski is talking * ! Of course they wouldn't. It's pathetic and embarrassing now. Hopefully Uefa kick them out Europa league for this *. First for their cheating and now for bringing the game into disrepute.

Not necessarily. It's only common sense--different punishment for intentional cheating, different for a paperwork mistake (the player did serve his suspension after all).

Because in this case the player DID sit out his 3 games suspension, but someone didn't do the paperwork. That's hardly cheating, is it?

Peter Lawwell asked Legia's Dariusz Mioduski to settle things the old fashioned way in a honourable fashion by playing the 3 kicks game.

Dariuz asked Peter how the game is played and was told it's simple. We each get three kicks at the other and the one that gives up loses.

So Dariuz flies into Glasgow and the venue is a jammed Celtic Park with over 120,000 paying £5 each to watch. Special permission had been granted for standing. No flies on oor Peter's *. :52:

Peter won the toss of the coin and with his first kick between Darius's nuts he collapses to the ground but somehow manages to get up.

Peter's next kick is a flying one straight into Darius's teeth and he loses a few. But amazingly blood pouring and spitting blood he gets up and prepares himself for the third kick.

Big Peter stares him out and delivers another hard left footed drive even harder than the first right between the balls forcing Darius to his knees once again with eyes streaming in pain.

The crowd fall silent as incredibly the loud mouthed Daris gets on his feet and yells "My * turn!"

Peter looks him in the eye and says naw pal fair do's you win. I apologise but I forgot to tell you I had a fax in a minute ago & UEFA said the forfeit stands- NO MATTER WHAT * you try and pull.

Everyone knows the punishment is incredibly harsh but UEFA have set a precedent in the past and they cant just change it because legia dont like it, the rules are set in stone so they need to grow up and move on because they are embarrassing themselves now after everyone was feeling sorry for them. And you can be * sure legia would do the exact same thing as celtic if the roles were switched, its easy for legia to act all self righteous when they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
