“Everyone thoroughly looked into this matter,” he continued, “but Michel Platini and Giorgio Marchetti said one thing – ‘Zibi, there is no backdoor. Nothing. Regulations do not provide for any other penalty. We are very sorry’.”

So what part of that, exactly, has Platini suggesting a one game play-off? Idiot.

Think it was more Celtic could voluntarily let Legia go through.

Which in reality, no club ever would do.

    Read the article closely it actually says that people within UFEA suggested it, NOT Platini. His comments aren't quoted until after and even at that it describes;
“but Michel Platini and Giorgio Marchetti said one thing – ‘Zibi, there is no backdoor. Nothing. Regulations do not provide for any other penalty. We are very sorry’.”

I rest my case, up yi.

lads, check this letter at least, there is nothing about any one off game, but about celtic showing some respect and talking about the situation, and issue a common statement accourding to waht platini suggested and UEFA rules: 34.05. If the requests from the parties and the disciplinary inspector are identical, the disciplinary bodies may consider ruling in accordance with those requests.

I was referring to his statement that Platini suggested to Legia that they could write to Celtic and ask for this game, which is clearly *.

    Rape someone for 1 minute.
    Rape someone for 90 minutes.

    Should they be sentenced differently?
    No, they are rapists.

    Failed logic buddy ;-)

    Well, there is this rule...

... so, obviously if Celtic and Legia both had agreed that Legia deserved to qualify, that's exactly what would have happened. Apparently Celtic thinks they deserved to qualify.

Spot on, mate. People who talk about fair play should grow the * up. This is business.

I'm sure they would have forfeited the game even if he didn't get on the field, he was suspended and should not have even been on the bench. All this pish about 5 mins and they had the game won means nothing.

The rule has to be clear and fixed to stop teams gaining an unfair advantage. Every team entering a European competition should have staff that understand the rules or they don't deserve to be there.

I did have sympathy but not anymore.

after reading the letter sent to Celtic and the fact we have not released a statement on the matter means we are seriously considering the matter of giving them the tie . I wont be surprised when it happens .
