No, as I see it, it's like this:

July 2008: Celtic think they are too smart to invest, planning to eradicate the debt
January 2009: Celtic think they are too smart to invest, planning to eradicate the debt
May 2009: Failure to invest costs us an SPL title, a champions league place, and a place in a summer tournament that would have earned £2m.
June 2009: The manager of Burnley rejects an offer to manage us after hearing our board's plan for the future - he later takes a job at a club in the relegation zone. (Note: we were told lies by the club about this offer)
January 2010: We ship out and in countless players, most of whom we know nothing about, fielding three loan signings and, one teenager, and hear the board boast about how this reduction of the wage bill represents wholesale investment.
February 2010: We are ten points behind a club that has debts of £31 and hasn't signed a player for 18 months.
Februry 2010: We find that the board's strategy has seen our debt increased
February 2010: Board apologists point to their increased debt as some sort of vindication of the strategy
    ...
May 2010: Celtic again fail to win the SPL and Champions League qualification?
Summer 2010: Celtic set about eliminating the significantly increased debt with reduced income and turnover
August to January 2011: Performances reflect the strategy
February 2011: Celtic report greater losses
February 2011: We are told that this vindicates the strategy

If they had only spent 2-3 million last January we would have had the champions league money. We also lost a fair few season tickets due to the disgust of the throwing the title away when all we did was buy Willo Flood.

People will only allow you to take their money for so long without getting anything back in return.

We might have won the league, equally our signing might have broke his leg or turned out to be a flop so we don't know for sure.

The board were completely wrong not to invest last January and it probably did cost us the league and automatic Champions League football, but hopefully they will have learned from that mistake.

We are one of the best run clubs around, however, that will mean absolutely nothing if we don't start getting the results on the pitch.

I'm not just talking about Steven Fletcher, For 2-3 million you could have had two players that could have improved that squad. It would have been enough to freshen things up and push for the title.

We just needed a wee bit of extra quality to freshen up the squad and push for the title.

I never thought Fletcher was the answer all I'm saying is it's conjecture that any new signings would have definitely won us the league, I think it probably would have but we can't be certain, we'll never know for sure.

I agree, that's why I said the board were wrong not to invest, just merely pointing out that spending wouldn't have 100% guaranteed the league.

If your granny had balls shed be your granda..:56:
Listen to use all "if we had of done this, that or another we might have got this that or another".. :56: the bottom line is that none of that stuff happen and were in quite a bad position at the minute but thats the nature of football and supporting a team.. theres good time and bad times and sooner or later we will get out of this bad spell and things will get better.. we have a sound financial future and a decent team that once gells together will be a joy to watch.. we probably wont win the league this year but thats down to a number of factors that i will not go into for it will take to long but, this year, right now i would be happy enough winning the scottish cup and beating the shame home and away...:50:

anyway keep the faith.. its not the end of the world like some people on here make out..:icon_mrgreen:

We all know if granny...etc..etc,we did know we had to beat the huns to the title,we should have spent last january, the way we have this year,i am sure we would have seen better account's,and would have been going for 5iar instead of the mess we are in now
