personally i cant imagine boruc saying things like that. however, he has made a few mistakes in the past games. to me he doesnt look as good and full of confidence like in the first half of the season anymore. I said once he could be our best keeper for a long time, but he needs to prove that over a few seasons, the magic word is constancy, a very important word for a keeper.

Yes but... I would drop Boruc but not because of this... paper story but because he became overconfident, he's loosing agilty, his * is fater and fater. He should feel more insecure and work harder. In the same time givin Marshall opportunity to play 1-2 games in the first team is also benefit.

If anyone has been to these fans forums they will know what goes on. Many things are said, mainly tongue in cheek, everyone has a laugh and goes home and tells their mates. No problem. Now we have a newspaper who have always had an agenda against Celtic stirring the *.What amazes me is that our fans accept this as gospel.Let the players sort the mess out and boycott this * rag. Interesting that Terry Gennoe had a wee plug for his goalkeeping services at the bottom of the article. 30 pieces of siver methinks.

    Are you Gavin Berry?

Fans Forums are not press conferences, they are light hearted and humourous occassions where jokes are made as they are meant to be entertaining. It's not what you say it's how you say it. There was no malice in what Boruc said. Shame on Murdo McLeod and Gennoe for slaughtering Boruc when they fully know the score. Sold they soul to the devil, they are the disgrace.
At least Strachan had the sense to drop Gennoe which is why he was dragged out of the woodwork.
Boruc should have been made captain on Sunday to show real solidarity in the camp.

Here you have explanation (stolen from other board):

    ---begin quote---
So, there is a LITTLE difference. Let's just compare one piece.

    SUNDAY MAIL version:
The Parkhead faithful then got it in the neck when the keeper said: "There's no comparison between Legia and Celtic supporters. I would give a lot to see 50,000 Legia fans in Celtic's stadium. During the game I feel like I'm in the theatre or cinema.People come to the stadium and pick their nose although it's a bit better at Old Firm games."

    TRANSLATION/OUTCOME:
    1) Celtic supporters are *, they feel betrayed by Boruc
    2) Celtic supporters are worse than Legia supporters.
    3) If 50000 Legia fans were sitting at Parkhead, they would show Celtic fans, what is the meaning of "support".
    4) Celtic supporters are quiet during the match, instead of chanting and supporting, they behave like they were sitting in theatre or cinema.

    WWW.LEGIALIVE.PL version:
They also talked about supporters. Boruc compared Scottish fans to cinema or theatre audiences. He emphasized the fact that a lot of women come to matches. He also said that fans tend to go from one extreme to another. „After a poor performance they may boo and after a good one they will carry you on their arms "After a winner one of the fans kissed my hand” said Boruc amused. „ My dream is to see 60 thousand fans of Legia” he concluded and the fans applauded loudly.

    TRANSLATION/OUTCOME:
    1) Scottish stadiums are safe like cinemas or theatres, you can bring your mother/sister/wife/girlfriend (or kids) to see the match and you don't need to worry about their security. UNLIKE IN POLAND.
    2) Scottish fans are hot-tempered and devoted to their favourite team, they react very emotionally
    3) Boruc would like to see 60 thousand fans of Legia, but not sitting at Parkhead instead of Scottish fans. He would like to see them at Legia stadium, at Łazienkowska street, and that is, because 12.000 people (both us & them) at Łazienkowska is A LOT, and it doesn't happen very often.

I guess you can call the difference between Daily Mail and Legialive.pl either a mistranslation or a sign of bad will. In Poland, we also have tabloids (like Super Express) but now I see they have still "much to learn" from British ones

Polish tv commentator during Dunfermline match also said (I guess he quoted from legialive) that Boruc would like to see his teammate defender Dickson Choto playing in front of him, so he would feel more secured (Boruc was probably asked by Legia supporters, "who of Legia players would you like to have in Celtic", that kind of stuff).

    That clears things, I guess.
    --- end quote ---

    I don't know what was said - wasn't there.
I have just read some transcript on various Legia pages. (In fact I have found three different versions in polish, however all three was totally different then SM version).

I think he is a good goalie and should continue playing, I would like to exercise my ego I said way before anyone I know that Boruc had an ego that could be a problem, and I think all thats happening has proven my point, now if this doesnt wisen Boruc up and he starts getting too * proud, then it will surface more, and his * will be gone, simple as that, and chances are he will be the ego that will do it?
In the meantime, just let him keep playing and hopefully he wont become a jinx like Douglas was? :87: :86:

Nicely written Crane except you didn't mention the two points why Boruc should be punished!! You didnt mention the bits about Roy Keane or John Hartson. Thats the only bit that I've a problem with.

Just because you dont like the newspapers that have written it, doesn't mean that its all false journalism.

This is all so f***ing confusing because the parts that
I read about Hartson and Keane were (I'll try to make
that translation as faithful as possible) :

"Hartson ? There is no better striker and no lazier man" (laugh)

"Keane is an estabilished star, he acts like one and everybody
    in the team recognizes it"

Hartson should consider it a compliment lol and I dunno about
the Keane part but it doesn't look that malicious does it ?

Anyway - if Boruc wants to sue those papers then I'd rather
believe him than journalists looking for "sensation".

Oh come on guys! Artur said some words that maybe he shouldn't say (but they were not as "spicy" as we think... just some jokes), polish newspapers wrote his words without mentionig that he was joking (except one paper where I read he was joking)... scottish journalist saw a chance for a great story before the match with Dunfermline and so we have a scandal!
How many times have you been told: "Don't believe journalists"?

I'm not defending Artur! I think he could say something like that (not exactly like it was quoted in newspapers) but his words have been taken too serious by some people.

And what is a rumour about Roy and John? Oh my *!!! He was just joking! Don't you ever joke about your mates? It was mentioned in polish newspapers that when he was saying this things about his team mates he was also lauthing and blinking his eye to mark that he is joking...

I read that Artur have apologized team mates about this jokes. I don't even think they could have beed angry...

    So... punishment for what??

It'd be very difficult to determine what our keeper
really said because one newspaper might twist his
words (Polish one probably) another "quoted" them,
Scottish press translated it and it's all so mixed up
now that nobody knows what was really said.

Artur should avoid making any controversial comments
and remarks in the future but in this particular case
we should [SIZE=-1]give him the benefit of the doubt IMO.

John Terry in a similar situation this week. When asked how to stop Ronaldhino his replied tongue in cheek "You have to kick him" in a light hearted manner. This weeks headlines in Spain are all about how John terry is out to kick Ron off the park tonight when everyone knows he has no intentions of doing this. Typically example of the media taking someones words, altering their tone which turns the context on its head to make a story from nothing.
