well, in my opinion, none of the political parties are capable of running our country, politics is rife with corruption and cronyism and its because of this that the country is in the state that its in, its shamefull, but i cant see it changing any time soon, most of those politicians and bankers should have been jailed, yet they walk around with big fat state pensions and golden handshakes, politics is rotten to the core.
maybe if these politicans had better educations and had an open mind the country might be better off at the minute, but in the world of politics, you dont climb the ladder unless you play ball with the right people.
regardless of all this, somebody has to run the country and its a case of picking the best out of a very bad and inept bunch.

im far from a snob i can tell you and i dont look down on anyone, but trumping a political party when you are obviously clueless to the parties policies and their ramifications is what i find alarming!! people need to be educated and have minds of their own and not to be brainwashed!

can you explain to me some off sinn feins policies that you feel would make a better ireland? a united ireland and then what?

I believe I agreed with you a few posts back that SF are clueless in there economics of running a country but then again I believe like you most policticians are.
While I'm long past trumpeting SF, its undeiningly so that SF are getting a bigger foothold in ROI. The reason SF have the block vote in the six counties are the young people. The other parties are seen as old men in grey suit types, were as SF are promoting more young people from communities yet 'keep it in the family' which sickens myself.

I take it that is you been ironic ? I seem to remember in the Dolores Price thread you said you didn't like the Provo's because they wouldn't let your uncle arrest them. I think you are allowing this one incident go cloud your judgement and are basing your arguments on this and ignoring the last one hundred years of Irish history. That seems pretty daft to me but each to their own.

Addressing the other two points you have raised.

The old IRA did dish out punishment shootings but they tended to shoot "people from their own community" in the head not the kneecap.

2 The Provo's were not involved in drugs.

I don't, I don't even like Adams and McGuinness. You in the other hand believe everything that your west Brit anti northern media, RTE etc tell you.

So what your saying is its ok for the old IRA to kill Brits but not Provos? Can you admit that?

And the Provos didn't do drugs, they had there own anti drug wing called Direct action against drug(DAAD) in which they shot and killed many drug dealers who were destroying thhe community but don't let that get in the way of your anti Provo agenda.

You say the Provos robbing banks was wrong? So it was ok for the old IRA to do it? How do you think they funded their operations?

What freedoms do people in the ROI enjoy that those in the North do not?

I thought the way the queen was treated during her visit was fantastic.
