I do hate the * "free stater" slur being used as a generalizing term but I know the video he's talking about (It was Martin McGuinness btw) and your one in the audience personified the westbrit/free stater stereotype.

    Ughhhhhh this yoke.

How and why is he not welcome? He was elected TD in Louth, they don't seem to mind him.

Why would his Sinn Fein/IRA involvement make him unwelcome?

and Sinn Fein already have Decent support in Cork with two TDs so I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem getting elected there.

You can see by the reaction that McGuiness got after giving her a geography lesson that the majority of people dont share her view thankfully.

yes the girl in that video came off very badly, why she was allowed to ask that question in the 1st place ill never know, but mcguinness and his cronies wrong stitched up sean gallagher too which cost him his pesidency, mcguinness, adams, ferris et al are the most unlikeable scumbags in irish politics

look, sinn fein will never have power in the republic of ireland, they'll never have support, they get votes from bar stool republicans and the uneducated working class, the rest see through them and that isnt just me saying so, i know people in the north have some fantasy idea about sinn fein having support in the south, when infact they have very little.

If you say so but the stats show that Sinn Fein are growing in the south with with every election. This is a fact whether you like it or not.

Also you never answered the question, why would Adams be unwelcome in the south because of Sinn Fein/IRA?

well if your using the last election as your barometer for stats well they are likely to be skewed, people voted against parties and picked an alternative rather than voting for a party, this was down to how the last fianna fail led government had failed.

adams and him membership and support of the ira and what he stands for and represents, the provos arent particularly liked in the republic to say the least.

Maybe so but the fact that they are growing each year and its annoying the * out of partionists like yourself makes me happy.

Why what's the difference in the 'old' IRA killing Brits in the name of Irish freedom and the Provos killing Brits for the same cause?

If republicans/Sinn Fein aren't welcome in the south, should the same have applied to the 'Old' IRA? They killed more civilians than the Provos, or will we pretend that never happened as a lot of people in the south like to do?

Not getting involved with the two of ye's but one thing that irritates the * out of me is when say someone mentions the provo campaign in vast negativity and the defence is "So do you condone the soldiers of the rising & 1920's'" and the fella will say "Oh no comparrison, completelty different time thats me granda your talking about he fought in bolands mill".

Ryan Tubridy is the example above but its fairly rife.

Indeed. The Provos get slaughtered in the media over the disappeared, and rightly so as it was wrong, but according to the program 'in the name of the Republic' which was on TV3 recently, the old IRA disappeared over 200 people in the space of 3 years. Wonder what the Provo haters make of that.

The irony is that, while they may never be the largest party they will big enough to tilt the balance and become partners in government. Now FF & FG etc have stated years ago that they will never share power with SF, but like all politicians, to have power is what they want/need/crave. They will form and agreed government sooner or later without a doubt.

This may/will also be SF's downfall as hard decisions will have to be made (cuts etc) which will go against their socialist (lol I know I know) foundations. Then they will not be able to stand opposite and shout from the heavens of the wrong doings, the effects on the working classes as they will be implementing change's.

    Power has its pitfalls also.

Again as stated before I have never had anything other than good times when I'm south, which is regular, although that girl in the clip me me cringe as I've no doubt there are some like all places that have people who think they are better.

why do you assume im a partitionist? just because i dont support terrorism? it doesnt annoy me at all, sinn fein are going nowhere in the south, people see through their lies and cover ups, you cant gague irish politics, in the last red seal poll for example fianna fail were again the most popular party in the republic after everything that has gone on.
the old IRA had a cause, the provos dont, they use republicanism as a banner for criminality.

:56: if that's your reasoning that Gerry Adams got elected in Louth, so by that logic people from the six moved-to Louth over the years and voted him in. Talk sense ffs.

SF are well represented over the 28 counties.

    4 TD's in Dublin
    1 TD in Sligo/Leitrim
    2 TD's in Donegal
    1 TD in Kerry/Limerick
    1 TD in Cavan/Monaghan
    2 TD's in Cork
    1 TD in Laois/Offaly
    1 TD in Meath West
    1 TD in Louth

That's 3TD's from Ulster, 2 from Connaught, 3 from Munster and 6 from Leinster. id say they very well re-presented overall. Also the are TD's in the republic that have been involved in PIRA that have been consistently voted for over the years, voters haven't been put off by their past.
