Never had anything like that from people from the south. Also if I did come across it then after the person woke up he'd a learned a valuable lesson.

Nah I don't view Irish nationalists up the North as less Irish than myself..... however they do seem to be a lot angrier than southern Irish folk.

Senna, I think we agree for the first time. :smiley-laughing002: :bbpd:

This means nothing, but I love the Irish from the occupied 6 more than the Irish from the Republic. I always have had sympathy for them. i think their position is much harder, but they don't give up and always show how much they love Ireland and its culture.

Disgrace. Well, they don't mind to say that people likeMcClean, Liam Neeson, Ciaran Hinds, nadine Coyle and so on are Irish.

I am not the best person to comment this hence I am not from Ireland, but some Irish people I met shocked me because they view the Irish from the North less Irish.

it is the same in the Balkans-Croats mind Croatians from Herzegovina, they mind ordinary people but they don't mind the Kovačs brothers, Nikica Jelavić and so on, or Serbians who have the same attitude toward Serbs from Bosnia, but Subotić, Kuzmanović, Savo Milošević are welcome.

I don't think this is typically only for Ireland. Olympiacos fans were throwing Anorthosis Famagusta, Cypriot Greek fans and shouting "Turks, Turks".
As we can see, it is more-less the same in the whole world. I can not be surprised to see Omonia fans who declare themselves as Cypriots, not Greeks. There are probably some ethnic Irish people in the North who declare themselves as Northern Irish because they are tired of that *.

I spoke to the Wolfe Tones about this and they felt that quite a few people in the South couldn't care less about the people in the North, which is quite sad. Again, I think it seems to be a class-based thing (West Brits).

    Those big bad Dubs.

I Know many folk in Dublin who woud be just as republican minded as someone from the Falls or Crossmaglen and such places and have done as much for Irish Unity.

I dont know of any that regard people from the North "less Irish" whatever the * that means:97: In saying that yes there are many folk down south who could not give two * about the North.

    :56: What a * wankstain

As for the OP - yes, I have experienced this kinda attitude from some folk down south but it isn`t a major problem. As already said in the thread, there are plenty of Republicans down south but just like up North- you get * who have a high opinion of themselves and think their better than Ireland. They look down on us in the north as the big bad "terrorists" who give Ireland a bad name. Just like this * of a politician. Saying that, I do think it is a growing problem

The Meath seat won by Helen McEntee.

Awful character who only won due to sympathy.

    whos discriminating now??

the amount of posts ive read calling southerners "free staters", surely thats discriminatory, no? ive often been called a mexican by northerners, now it never bothered me and it was usually said in jest, but the mud slinging comes from both ends so put up or shut up!

Gerry Adams isnt welcome in the republic by the vast majority for obvious reasons, nothing to do with being a "wealthy free stater"
