First time I've seen the highlights that long..

Seen the goals and Tommys word's after but looked a cracker of a game..

 

Was sent a picture of my uncle on his pals shoulders last week. An absolute belter a photographer got him with..

Turned out it was for this game..

 

I know Paul Hegarty's sons. Enjoyed reminding them of their old man's amazing defending at the equaliser

 

I listened to it on the radio with my da.

 

On this day in 1953 Celtic beat Manchester United 2-1 at Hampden in front of a crowd of 73,000 to reach the final of the Coronation Cup. Goals from Bertie Peacock and Neil Mochan.

 

We used to put up some Irish lads when they came over for the big games. On the day of the game one of them bought me the Hoops with 100th Cup Final embroidered onto it, I've still got it.

Great game and one of the best bits of commentary from Archie at Provans freekick, was right behind the goal to see it too..

Archie 'Only twice in the history of the Scottish Cup has a goal been scored directly from a freekick, is this a liitle bit of history? Oh it is..'(not this clip) .. * magic.. My first Cup Final was 11..

 

On this day in 1917 a goal from Jimmy McColl in front of 40,000 at Hampden sees Celtic beat Queen's Park to lift the Glasgow Charity Cup.
