Price might be a bit lower, but I doubt the club\agent\player would lie about it.

they rejected cause they advanced to the Champions League for the first time in thier history, and had one of the best group of players in Israeli football in the last couple of years.

His price went down cause he was injured for almost the entire season.

we shouldnt be buying a player who was injured for almost an entire season...the clips make him look good but then there are clips that make sammy look outstanding.

I think they misinterpreted Kiyal's info wrong. Anyways if he's good enough for Kayal, he's good enough for me :shamrock:

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a ploy in order to put pressure on our no. 1 striker target.

I doubt the management buy anyone based on youtube clips. I do agree with you though that if all you saw of Sammy was his goals you would think he was amazing all the time.

Haha the usual sun pish about us trying to get players has come up again...this time we will have to more than we expected!! wonder what rangers target wil walk theough broken glass to join them eh??

    http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3645623/Omer-will-cost-Neil-extra-1m.html

CELTIC will have to fork out almost £1million more than they planned to land Israeli striker Omer Damari.

SunSport revealed yesterday that the Hoops have been tracking the 22-year-old pal of Parkhead playmaker Beram Kayal and are set to make a £1.7m swoop when he recovers from injury later this month.
But Maccabi Petah Tikva won't let Damari go for anything less than £2.65m.
Chairman Amos Luzon said: "We have already had interest from Maccabi Haifa for Omer and they were told the price is 3million Euros. It won't be lowered and it's the same for any club that wants him."
Meanwhile, Celtic are in talks to play a friendly with English top-flight new boys Swansea after the SPL season has started.
SunSport understands discussions have taken place, with August 3 pencilled in as the date for a possible clash at Swansea's Liberty Stadium.
The Hoops have been allowed to skip the second round of SPL games on July 30 to play in the Dublin Super Cup and would then play Brendan Rodgers' side in midweek before a trip to Aberdeen.

That's typical scaremongering * jounalism not worth half the paper it's written on and without one shred of evidence.

Yes Luzon said that but what he didn't say was Haifa offer a million euros and that's it...oh and he forgot to mention that Maccabi PT are hardly the richest club in the world and are a selling club. If we do offer a firm 1.7mill, I'd imagine they'd jump at it. The question is whether the player will move or not. The mindset in Israel is completely different to Scotland, as is food, diet and many other factors etc. Couple that with the fact that the coldest game Damari's likely to have played in would be well above zero....sometimes the thought of slugging it out against the likes of M'Well on a minging pitch on a rotted Scottish winter night might not be as appealing to some.

alright , omer damari is a player with potential , a very good 1-1 player , and also can make this little assist that can turn everything around.
the player is getting good reviews from a lot of people , and it really seems that israeli players will go here in celtic.
anyway , this is the stats that he finished this season .
15 goals in the entire season , and 6 assists.
"the player is only 23 , but still celtic might give him a time to shine even more , he has huge potential" - Luis Fernandez (manager of israel)

so i say , give him a chance .. he can be the joker of this team , and who knows .. maybe even a star
