Could you please tell me how the most powerfull league in the world is going to flounder and the mighty spl flourish?

There's only two clubs in Scotland that can win the league and one of them could go bust if they dont win the win the league, our future would be a lot more secure down south,

Look at Setanta want to renegociate the tv money and look at our rapidly falling attendences a few seasons with no european football and we'd be selling our best players, our future is far more bright and secure if we moved down south.

If we get in there, we will have to increase the stadium capacity thats for sure. I think we could be looking at a 100000 sellout every home game in the english top flight.

Bottom line is we need to get the vote.

If it does happen l will be one of the first in line to hand over a ton to get the
club in order, cos it's not going to be a case of going straight up from the 2nd
tier. It's all about the money at the end of the day, quality players want big bucks
and down there we could afford to hand it over as well as buying a bit more class.
l guess l want it to happen but l get a slightly sick feeling when l think about it though. Imagine the hoops jersey with KAKA, MESSI, OR EVEN TORRES on the back. My guess is we wouldn't be challenging for a top four place in the top flight for about 8-10 years.....the QUESTION l ask myself.....IS IT WORTH THE WAIT TO BE FLYING HIGH AND HAVING A FIGHTING CHANCE TO WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE???? ANSWER: YES.

CAN CELTIC BE THE KINGS OF EUROPE??????

WILL WE ATTRACT THE BIG NAMES??????

WILL WE GET SILLY AND DREAM OF BIGGER THINGS?????

WILL CALDWELL GET A FIRST TEAM PLACE????

    I DREAMED A DREAM....

Glory hunters wet dream. I hate the EPL and all it stands for. I wont support Celtic for 1 day after this is ever announced. If I wanted an English team I would get an English team.

Bought and sold for English gold such a parcel of rogues in a nation...

    Money talks eh.

    Im completely against this happening.

Will be essentially becoming an English team in the eyes of the world.

And then what happens when the bubble finally burst down there and we've burned all our bridges?

franchise, merchanise...Celtic is now a product or a brand. This is a club with socialist roots. We are already capitalist hoars hawking the heritage card too sell mechandice to people who care not a jot about football etc. Sooner this money bubble totally bursts and we return to bringing young lads through and cap the wages at something sensible the better. The EPL is simply disgusting. Tickets well beyond the class who football was built on. I remember when the English top league was worth watching, when clever management and an eye for a player could bring teams like Norwich and Ipswich etc to the top of the league. Money only bought a degree of advantage not total. We need to stop stop chasing the capitalist football dream and avoid completely loosing our soul. Honestly, the SPL may not be the best but its ours and its still in some contact with its working class roots. Fck the EPL and all the mercenary scum who play for them.

Mediocrity is a disease, that's all we're ever going to be tied to when working under the shambles that is the scottish football authorities.

In 20 years we'd just be an English team

We won't be an English team, take off the patriotic nonsense blinkers for a minute.

The choice is simple; languish in a footballing back water and never have the chance to flourish as the club we deserve to be or grasp the opportunity to grow naturally to the size we should be by not having our wings clipped by shoddy revenue streams which come due to the poor quality of opposition and the size of the nation in which we reside.

As I've said before the board won't even think twice about this and I mean that sincerely. If they are offered the chance to feed on the riches of an enormous media revenue deal down South they will be down there before you could even say 'don't do it'. It's this clubs dream from the top down to be somewhere it can thrive and I personally am behind it 100%. The board that are in charge just now, just as much as the 2 previous regimes, would do cartwheels across the border to get Celtic into a decent league set up.

    * yeah !

I think a common mistake folk make is to presume that we'll go there and steadily, and quickly, rise to the top and be competing for the Champions' League. How would we feel with European football, for a while at least ? How would we feel about mid-table league positions, for a while at least ?

Every club is now a product or brand. It's a fact of life and a major source of revenue for a lot of clubs and helps them not only attract decent players but pay their wages.

If we were to join an EPL and reap the benefits of the TV money and increased advertising and marketing revenue it would bring the players we could attract would make most Celtic fans drool and that's fact. Sure a few purists would whinge and whine but come the day we made it past the last 16 of the CL, almost all the whingeing would stop in a heartbeat.

We are a club with huge unfullfilled potential and the only way we will ever realise even part of that potential is if we were to participate in an EPL. We would never lose our identity as it's too strong and too deeply ingrained in the psyche for it to be lost. We would not be classed as English and we would not be thought of in lesser terms. If anything our global presence would be huge and we'd be looking at selling out CP for every single game of the season.

I'd jump at the chance and so would the board, management and players.
