Would bite your hand off for any chance to go anywhere other than the SPL.

The people running Celtic just now feel exactly the same way so if there's even the slightest chance we will be going ahead with it.

Totally agree with you alsybhoy but thers allways a but ,football is not football anymore ,its a business run by businessmen and money talks with these guys .

Celtic and Rangers would jump at at the chance but im sure the championship teams wouldnt want us anywhere near there league ,2 less places for 2 of there teams ,theres a lot more to this than meets the eye but SKY have a big say aswell but are the english ready for celtic and rangers and what comes with them ,sectarismn for a start ,then the scots -english thing ,,theres loads of stuff to be spoke about ,but money could be the defining thing in this .

This was rummoured and talked about when MON was in charge, I think the team being used was QPR. But there is some kind of law that would prevent it from happening.

Isn't there a rule that one club cannot buy another?

And what would we call ourselves seeing as Glasgow Celtic would still be a going concern? Southampton Celtic doesn't have the same ring to it.

They play in a shithole, we play in Paradise....what's your plan to remedy that?

Our best players (if I understand your plan correctly) would have to then go play for Southampton Celtic which means we'd no doubt become one of the SPL also rans in Scotland....or does your plan take into consideration the costs and players involved in challenging for both the EPL and SPL?

Oh and if we still managed to win the SPL and get the CL place, would we then "buy" our best players back from Southampton to challenge in the CL?

Your "plan" is so full of holes it's laughable.

money, money * money ! im sick off hearing about this in the game its slowly killing football and turning almost into a full money makeing buisness and removing the tag "the beautiful game" fifa need to get the finger out of their * and sort it all out financially like wage cap,and a maximum on the transfer fee`s pd.

if we go to the epl we will be under england and therefore we will be called an english team and that will * me off. its not all about money ffs ? sort our leagues out make them exciting ,sponors will be interested, clubs will get more money, and a better standard of player will come here because then we can pay the wages!

im fed up with everything haveing to go through and mentioning the epl!ffs its not that great a * league! just think about this?
if sky didnt pump the scandolous amounts of cash into the overrated epl where woul they be today?

sorry for the rant but this subject * me off big time :yikes:

Celtic haven't lost their heritage in 121 years. You talk about money, do you not think that divides the Old firm from other scottish teams and will increase to do so. Celtic will still play in Glasgow and trust me, celtic will never be regarded as an English team. Our heritage is known throughout the world and the premiership will not be able to disgard this

ffs raf! how do you know this for sure?
remember when cardiff got to the fa cup final last season?
they wer told if they were allowed to play in europe the will represent england and not wales !! do you think that wont happen to celtic ?

of course they will itll be like holding a gun to our heads cos they know we want the dosh......think about it mate its not all about the money its more or less england getting what they want when they want, all the time .
well im sorry but i dont share your enthusiasam for this as i think we will get * on this tbh.

It's not my plan, was basically just a theory, as i said i'm not completely sure regarding whether one club could buy over another. However Barca will have a franchise in the US in the next few seasons will they not?

The thing is though we would basically just be buying their place in England and we would therefore obviously still have their players and would have to run both clubs - should we move down there as separate entities, however i believe that should any celtic side get into the prem then we would probably play the games up here.

What i was meaning was that this would be a way of getting into england without waiting for this invite which is never coming - i myself am not sure whether i would even want us down there this is just a theory however as some people do want us in the prem eg Mr Desmond

Should we win our current attempts at getting our B side into the scottish leagues then i was hinting that this may be the side competing in Scotland

Although as i've said FTB i'm not completely sure how this would work it is just a thought i had

And i do believe that we are called The Celtic Football Club and previously The Celtic Football and Athletic Club but never Glasgow Celtic so whether we to "buy" another club we would not inheret their name, or their satdium as i'm sure we could still play up here - a la Cardiff and Swansea

This is how it feels to be Celtic
So what your saying is we give up all our history and instead of 1888 on the badge we put 2010 for example. Not a good idea IMO.

I would jump at the chance to play in England. We may technically be considered an English club but everyone knows we would really be an Irish club, Based in scotland, Playing in England.

I can't see why anyone would want to stay in Scotland what does it offer us?

fine then make this the reserve side that we were going to send into the lower reaches of the scottish leagues, or a celtic franchise into england these are just many possibilities that we have in increasing the celtic brand.

this aint everyones cup of tea i know but we are clearly not maximising our market potential at the moment due to circumstances currently outwith our control.

What about a celtic franchise into the USA then similar to the Barca one would you also be against this?

We will never ever lose our history but also we must move with the times and how the game is moving if we are to fulfil the potential which our club has been given thanks to that illustrious history
