It won't happen. To get us in I think the clubs who have to vote us in and lesser clubs won't vote us in knowing we will probably aid to them getting relegated.

 

Yes, compared to the SFA's history with Celtic, i'd be more than happy with Celtic being member of the FA and Celtic would flourish in Europe. Consider whats good for Celtic and not what's good for your political ideologies or otherwise.

the problem lies directly at the sfa hq? sort out and re-vamp the full scottish leagues and make them exciting and then we will get more and better sponorships,think about scotland asweel of celtic and dont let the english get everything they * want.

Scottish football simply doesn't have the quality. Imagine what celtic could do with the finances of an EPL team when we're already competing well in Europe. The Celtic board want it. its the premiership teams that don't want it. I want whats best for Celtic. The move would bring financial integrity and potential to become a much better team. We are big fish in a small pond. Time to play with the big boys. Scottish football will never get bigger to give the old firm competition

I have been waiting so long for this but I think if it ever does happen it will be a long time off.

 

Wouldn't this kind of thing lead to clubs like Porto and Benfica wanting to play in La Liga?

 

so are you going to be happy if it happens and one season we get into europe and be called an english team?
thats what will happen you know then as a scottish team we will lose a part of our heritage ffs.

The thing is scotland and england are pretty much the same country. You have cardiff, swansea etc in there already it would not be much different.

 

We are of irish origin and that will always be the case wherever we play.

 

i think you've got a point there mate but people are just gettin fed up with the scottish league a british league would be perfect but that's just not gonna happen

we've always wanted to be the top force in scottish football now we are what do we do from here

 

Entering England

Today i had a thought about how Celtic could go about getting into the prem and all that, and i come on here and see the EPL 2 thing but this is kinda still a different proposition. And i have been away for a wee while so dunno if this has previously been said but here goes.

We buy Southampton if they stay up. I know it's pretty radical and sounds slightly daft but this type of thing has been done before. If indeed they are to go to the wall then there will be no effect to them whether we buy them or not if you catch my drift. We could then have a name change and whatever else is needed and then ropel ourselves towards the premiership.

I'm not stating that it must be the aints that we buy over but the principle is there and this wou;d get us around the whole would we get invited and what about the huns stuff.

There are numerous other advantages as well

We would not have to abandon the Spl for instance i.e keep the CL place whilst waiting for promotion etc

And therefore leave our fanbase up here having a place to support the team

There are obviously barriers and the likes but what are everyone's thoughts on this proposal? Or a similar one?
