Don't know if it would work. It'll definitely be like any other Old Firm game, even if it is a friendly. But, for the trouble it could potentially cause, would it be worth it? Say if it was held in New York, in the Ralph Wilson stadium, which has a capacity of 73,000. Would we definitely fill it, if it was split 50/50? There's more Celtic fans in New York than Rangers fans, so they'd have to split it like 60/40 or 65/35, even still, would we be able to get 45,000 Celtic fans to the game? When we can't even get 45,000 to Celtic Park?

see I like celtic more than I dislike rangers. A game abroad would benefit us just as much as them (if not more as we would have a larger support at the game, make a better impression on any 'neutrals' who watch, etc...). Anything thats good for us I am for. I honestly don't care if they share in the wealth. Someone has to, and their participation would maximize the benefits for all involved.

Who's we?are you talking on behalve of the board?

Celtic were first to make this proposal.Rangers declined at the time.

we brag about fans all over the globe, many in the states who have not seen a celtic game never mind a celtic v huns game, think about them for a minute.

Im comparing some of the teams in our league to virtually no different than linfield in fact linfield and the likes of st johnstone / st mirren - have similar incomes . Linfield receive £800000 in income from the IFA In ground rent for their stadium a season. the qulaity of our league is not to far disimilar the bottom teams . if you have any ideas how to generate more income to we can compete with the best teams in europe instead of getting beat by nobodys like sion then lets hear it.

we are running very expensive youth development systems and scouting policies . these things need financed we receieve less than 10 perecent tv money than the likes of wigan get. gate receipts are down as well as merchandising

    whats your ideas?

Just in from work and seen this. There is no way whatsoever we should be giving this any consideration. Anything else is to me unacceptable.

We should be trying to cut all ties, not make them stronger.

    * Rangers, and * the Old Firm.

Think that is one thing that Peter Lawwell said he was trying to do and that is get out of this "old firm" association. Sooner the better imo

    No chance, never

Although I do feel for the yanks or foreign supporters that have not witnessed a Celtic v Huns game as it would be a great opportunity, though that being said a "friendly" would never have the same venom for the full experience

I want rid of this Old Firm tag to me something like that would only encourage it more

    Not selfish at all.

Instead of traveling half way across the world for a jolly with that mob we should be looking to actively bury the *, and certainly should be looking to bury any association we have with them.

Guilty by association. These notorious city centre wreckers would get us tarred with the same brush.

    * them, let them have their love ins with Chelsea and Linfield, that should raise some of the cash needed for the renting of Hampden.

We play top teams in 'glamour' friendlies every summer in a variety of exotic locations, and are regularly asked to play in invitational tournaments.

The Huns play games against the likes of Linfield and if they're lucky someone like Hamburg. Basically loyalist love-ins.

They want to play us because it will benefit them commercially. It makes sense for them, it will increase their profile ten fold wherever the game is held. The same cannot be said for us though, we would be far better served playing the likes of Manchester United as we are doing at the minute.

What we need to keep in mind is that Celtic is a global brand, Rangers is not. They have a large fanbase in Scotland and in the O6C, and that's it.

    No,no,no,no.

We should never be associated with that lot in a "friendly".

We do not need them to enhance our fanbase abroad, and should not be seen as some half of an act with them.

Here's what happens. They come over here and the huns are huns and wreck the towns in America. Then Celtic doesn't get invited back over here during the summers, because of the presumed "association" with the old firm and Rangers, after the stadium owners etc discover an "old firm friendly" wasn't such a good idea. I don't want Boston to become Manchester. No.

Hope we win the league plus a few cups this year and put them back in their place, they were lucky we slipped up last season.
