Granted as bad as Oh’s miss was, CCV is another who should’ve burst the net from about 2 yards with a header

Take it you missed his 2 goals he's scored including a late winner? Or the one touch spin a couple of weeks back? If you can't see the boy has big potential then you need to I vest in a pair of specs my man

I think the big man is still a bit raw so give him a chance.

Point I was making wasn't necessarily about GG was more the fact that when we need it in games like yesterday we don't have that type of striker to put on that u have a belief that he will get us out of trouble anymore

Last 2 games he’s had 2 chances he should of buried. He’s still young and definitely has the quality but for next season I still think we’ll need a 3rd striker that wont miss those chances.

Its natural that people are going to compare the two seeing as Oh is effectively the player brought in to replace him.

Whilst its still relatively early days, i said before that i didnt think Oh was at the level that GG was at, and i still stick by that.

Whilst Oh might be stronger in other areas of his game than GG was, I think that GG was a far bigger presence in the box and gave the opposition a harder time.

Difficult for Oh because unless Kyogo gets injured he is going to find it hard to get any sustained game time but he has to make his opportunity count.

New some fans would start pining for GG after our two strikers failed to score in our 2nd draw of the season 33 games in :56:

Oh will he fine, needs time. GG looked like a diddy at first.

Right, but I'd say those instances aren't really representative of his general play. More often than not, I see him lumber into the box and wait. He's not terribly proactive off the ball and his finishing is far from clinical.

I'm not saying there's not streaks of a player there, what I'm not seeing is how those sparks come together in a player that can start games for us should Kyogo need a rest. We need a proper second striker ready to go now, and he needs a spell on loan.

Because of a mixture of Kyogo's form, and most games already won when he came on, it can be more difficult to make an impact. I remember Larsson missing good chances in his first season here, so it happens to all strikers.

He might be the answer, or he might not be. We just need to be patient with him.

Another striker definitely needed in the summer.

He has all the attributes but it's just not quite there yet. He's only 21.

There's no use comparing him to Kyogo, 7 years difference between them and completely different t styles.

Even GG. I've been guilty of this but it was clear from minute 1 they were different players. I did feel it would be hard to replace GG goalscoring ratio considering the minutes he got on the park and that does seem to be the case, though. Although a limited player he could get into the right positions.

I think we will definitely sign someone else in the summer.

I would say this is my first reaction too that we need another striker but see when you actually think about all the things like balancing non domestic players for Europe and having enough game time for 3 it is a bit of a challenge.

Our second choice likely gets half decent game time around our European games and early cup competitions but once we get to the half way stage opportunities dry up. If we get a third choice striker then their minutes or Oh’s become even more limited.

Three ways around this I can see is:

    1. We buy someone who can play right wing and Striker, not like Abada who can fill in but someone used to either role. Levi Garcia at AEK Athens is one who can do this well as an example. So a real first team signing that would give you flexibility.
    2. We go for someone more experienced that can do a job at least domestically and perhaps Contribute in last 15 mins or so in Europe. From a domestic perspective could be Nisbet, or someone older from a Euro league used to being that person that gets on the end of things.
    3. You buy another prospect similar to Oh to battle it out for the minutes. I actually think this is where it’s a shame what happened to Dawson. All be it at a low level but he was playing that role of being there to get on the end of things and finish them off.

Unless Kyogo goes I just can’t see us buying in another high cost first team striker. May be proven wrong right enough as we did seem to be keen on Cho and Oh in January.

We'll definitely be looking at another striker in the summer. Lots of noise in January that we wanted 2 in and I don't think that will have changed.

Oh will be fine - lots to like about his game.

He's just getting wee cameos, and mostly when the game is done and that performance at the weekend would've had Messi hard to make an impression.

Regardless on whether Oh went toe to toe stats wise with Kyogo, I'd say a 3rd option is definitely needed.

Not maybe seen as a priority but certainly something we should be looking at.

Oh imo has instantly been impactful quicker than Giakoumakis was. Which in itself should show where Oh can end up when he's been here for as long as Giakoumakis was.

I can't see us signing a third striker, if Kyogo stays in good form there's just not enough minutes to go around and keep eveyone happy, Maeda is decent enough backup for the position or bring in a winger for the right that can play up top if needed.

Agree with this, get Jota on the left and a RW in.

Oh will get better, give him time.

Maeda next season hopefully has new competition for the Wing or as Striker to compete with Oh.

I think there is a good chance we will sign a third striker in the summer, a proven and experienced striker, probably
Scottish, to keep the home grown quota right. A third striker would give us cover for next season, and allow Oh the valuable time and space to develope his game quicker and further.

Most top teams operate with three trusted strikers.

Would like to see those minutes go to an Academy player. Manchester City and Real Madrid have 2 senior strikers in there squads, plenty of examples of squads with more though.

Still time the boy will come good, like it's been said many times on here he's only 21 still settling. He needs a full pre season and run of games at some point to really see the bets of him. GG wasn't great his first 6 months and only started showing what he could do when he got a run of games and was settled in. Judge Oh next season, already seen glimpses of what he can do
