If we can sell him for the rumoured fee it's a bit of a no brainer. Was up for keeping him and sticking him out on loan but on reflection that kind of says it all. Another position we tried to cheap out on instead of actually investing decent money and getting it right first time around. The amount of accumulated fees and wages we waste on £1-£2m pound players is ridiculous. At least this time we look to be getting some money back for him but I am dubious of the quoted amounts, I think it will be a small fee up front with a lot of performance based add ons.

 

If we’re getting almost double our money back on this one, and he has made a contribution at times as well, I wouldn’t quite say this is the same as our usual £2m waste of money strikers

Incredible that’s he’s still here. Given he was posting that he was onto the next chapter on his social media and it’s widely acknowledged we had received a bid of £3.5m.

Personally, I think we should have bitten their hands off at £3.5m. Excellent piece of business getting profit on him. I get there could have been disagreements over the terms of the deal, where we probably wanted quite a large sell on but I’m sure we could have worked that out.

Apparently Genk are closing to signing another striker so unlikely they will come back in for him.
