He's the new Neil Lennon. The 4.4 million weren't a waste, but he is a defensive midfielder that can contribute in attacking play when he's not pressed with defensive duties. Attacking midfielder-if we look strictly, there's only one.

 

Jan and Donati are definitely out and I'm fairly sure Crosas is out too, think everyone else has a chance of making it/being on the bench

I'm in two minds about this game about what team to put out. We need a strong bench if we need a plan B.

This would be my line up. Remember, it's them who have to take the game to us and hopefully if we'll have McGeady and Maloney on the bench to change the shape of the team if we go a goal down with the option of pulling Loovens off for one of them. I've a feeling they'll have a right go early on and we could maybe catch them on the break with Brown and Samaras.

 

We will lose on Tuesday.

Horrible feeling about Tuesday. I smell us going up early on, McDonald scoring, holding out until the 70ish minute and then capitulating.

Let's not get carried away - a draw will do - i think we can handle Villareal at Parkhead, or at least take a point off them.

451 all the way, with McDonald coming on for Samaras when he's knacked or earlier if things aren't going our way. I'd like to see Brown playing the central attacking midfield role like he played at Hibs.

 

We need to go into this game with the attacking mind on, defeat in this game for us is simply unthinkable to say the very least.

We need to go out and take the game to them straight away and finish any chances the come our way.

I am confident we will win. If we win we are almost guaranteed at least UEFA cup at least. Heres hoping United can do us a favour though.

 

I'm a bit wary of going 4-5-1 against them.
I'd rather a 4-4-2 with Samaras and McDonald starting up front.

I think he started Loovens on Saturday to see if he's ready for the game against Aalborg. But imo, he looked a bit shaky so Caldwell will hopefully play in defence and not midfield.

Should give a nice balance of grit, creativity, pace and height. Composure in possession is going to be absolutely key. So come on Naka and Brown and Robson!!!

If nothings happened by half-time, get Maloney on for Nakamura/Hartley.
Got a feeling Naylor might be in for a start. We're going to need some big performances and he's due one.
