simply outclassed them, still slightly worried about the away game. cant just rite them off need to be cautious but think we cld sneak a win

 

If we even get a draw, I am sure we will go through. That would leave Benfica 5 points behind us with only 6 left to play for and us with a much better goal difference. I think not losing is vital. If we lose, our lead will be down to 2 points with 6 to play for and anything could happen. I think Man U will be through before so Celtic and Benfica matches against them may be against weakened sides and totally unpredicatable.

 

They need to shoot for a win just to knock them out right there.

 

I agree. Best form of defence is attack (within reason). I think Benfica would beat us if we played for a draw, used a defensive formation and sat in. Looks like Benfica cannot cope with really pacey attacking play and midfield closing down so I would play the same team as in the 1st leg. The way I see it is, if we win or draw we will go through, if they win I think they may well pip us. Personally, I would play a weakened team against Kilmarnock to protect players and save legs.

 

Benifca will be fired up for this game because we rattled them so we need to score 1st to have any chance

 

There are some idiots here that think that fernando santos said "we will certainly win in lisbon". Freakin scot journalists... he said "i certainly expect a victory in lisbon". But anyways... you will get what u deserve, you´ll suffer here for sure We are still not in our best form... but in a normal benfica day, celtic is a banal club... we have such stronger team. Unlucky Rui Costa and Karagounis are injured...

How do you have a much stronger squad exactly? Nuno Gomes ain't exactly a clinical finisher, Simao is a good player but is simply shoved off the ball against our much more physically stronger team, you're defence cant deal with a cross and Quim in goal is a * disaster. He cannae catch a cold. Don'y get me wrong Benfica are a good team but I am severely optimistic about the away leg. And for the record I've been to Portugal 4 times and I have to say i have grown to love Sporting Club de Portugal
