Official Celtic statement following fireworks on tuesday night/UEFA disciplinary

This isn't about the GB as much as it is about the entire section 111. Why do you think in the statement they said they were going to close section 111 rather than say they are going to disband the green brigade?

 

I think this is a case of a mountain being made out of a mole hill. I think the Green Brigade have been absolutely brilliant for the atmosphere at Celtic Park, and even Celtic have been quick enough to use them as a cash cow. All they need to do is to refrain from using fireworks at Celtic Park, although as others have already mentioned this incident may very well have nothing to do with the Green Brigade at all...

 

Where did that figure come from? Sounds a lot to me, but if true a bit worrying. I can't really see how so many seats could get broken just from jumping from side to side, and as someone else on here said, what happens when we all do The Huddle.

 

Did the Green Brigade have flares at Celtic park?

 

If it isn't jealousy what is? The who dislike the GreenBrigade always say things like "they think there bettwr fans" and "they think they're bigger than the club" when they have never said anything of the like.

Nah, I didn't see any flare smoke (I sit in the Lisbon Lions stand) but there were 3 fireworks/firecrackers set off

 

I relation to the broken seats, it does happen. You can see them from the jock stein stand.

I've always wondered that too. I remember in Lennon's second season (I think), Dillon scored a last minute equaliser for Dundee Unt and I booted the seat infront of me in anger. Not even a crack.

 

I am not a faux-ultra so no, I have never been a part of mass lateral movement.

Like I said I feel like they think they are bigger than Celtic sometimes. Im not anti green brigade though I commend them for bringing back the atmosphere etc but I do get annoyed sometimes when they take focus away from guys on the park.

 

I struggle to see a few rows in front of me let alone the other end of the ground!

I've seen old guys with * walking sticks doing the "huddle" and this "lateral movement" no where near that corner.

It is worth noting that, when the stadium is empty, you can clearly see that GB's seats are bent/twisted. They don't lineup with the rows on other sections.

Not a slight - I want standing at games and I want the GB to be in those areas. But if seats get broken, flares and fireworks are getting set off and the clubs gets fined as a result then it's time for a ban.

Those flares/fireworks could have seriously hurt someone.

Of course it says section 111 not the GB.
