    Rossoneri's Celtic striker shortage

    latest from italy

    Saturday 17 February, 2007

Carlo Ancelotti has pointed out Milan may only have one striker at their disposal for the Champions League encounter with Celtic.

“I really don’t think Alberto Gilardino can recover in time for Tuesday. He still has this knock to his knee that is causing him pain,” warned the Coach after today’s 4-3 win at Siena.

“Tomorrow Pippo Inzaghi will undergo tests and we’ll understand if he can take part in the match or not. We don’t have many options, but whatever happens, there will be 11 of us out there.”

It’s a heavy blow for the Rossoneri, who cannot count on brace hero Ronaldo, as he is Cup-tied from his participation with Real Madrid.

Marco Borriello is sitting out a ban for failing a random drugs test, so Ricardo Oliveira is the only forward available for the game at Celtic Park.

Looking forward to Tuesday, will be an amazing night. Hopefully we can win 2-0 or something to take a good strong lead to Milan. Although I'll be happy with any win/anything that gives us a chance to go through. Anything can happen over the two legs.

My main concern is the defensive line up we go with. I don't know why GS was playing Elvis today when he should really have put out the defensive line he planned to go with on Tuesday IMO. Not the time to be going into big games unprepared.

Same with Hartley - we should have seen who would be playing in Milan out there today - eg. Gravesen or Sno (whoever he plans to go with).

Will be interesting to see who features. Whatever happens, a win would be amazing!!!

It's not so bad as we will just play 4-3-2-1 a formation we know very well.

    * what a game 94th minute :52: reminds me off the milan team which was unstoppable 2 seasons back ... :fear: when we kept winning at the death

Ambrosini headed in against psv ... he did that again .. hes a truly important player

forza milan ... i think at cp .. milan will win i know that sounds crazy but i really think were gonna pull it off although last time we played it ended up 0 - 0 i hope we sneak it at the death

Totally know what you mean. You just want to hurry up the pundits and watch the teams come out of the tunnel.

I hope you are right Bobobhoy. But even 0-0 means we are still in it. Over three hours a European tie can take many turns and be very very tight and as long as we don't concede at CP then I believe we have a very good chance. I feel the key is scoring over there. If we can work a free kick for Naka......

My predicted score line Celtic to win 2-0 then draw 0-0 at the San Siro.

Serious?! That's either sarcasm or honesty. :86:

But I don't think it'll be 2-0. I think we'll only win by 1 goal, if we win.

despite my waffle im usually not far off the mark...i really believe we will pump them ala benfica..

we have been steadily improving lately and if beattie puts some ice on them hamstrings from here 2 tuesday were laughing martin..

italians have a terrible record on british soil and if we get at them from the first minute...100% WE WILL WIN

only thing im worried about is WGS picked JJ 2day and please * he dosent start on tuesday...mcgeady will tear them apart the aul lad cafu if hes on his game

    BRING ON THE MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting quite confident with Milan fans saying their gonna lose and get outclassed. :34:
