Dida and a few others officially out! 3rd choice keeper in with one appearance!!

    Ancelotti confirms Dida absence
    Friday, 16 February 2007

Four days before AC Milan's UEFA Champions League trip to Celtic FC, coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that goalkeeper Dida has failed to recover from a shoulder injury and will miss the first-leg tie.

    Confirmation
Dida damaged his right shoulder during Milan's Italian Cup defeat at AS Roma on 31 January and had hoped to return in time for the first knockout round encounter. Instead, the Brazilian international, 31, must target the second leg on 7 March as his comeback date, leaving new signing Marco Storari between the sticks in Glasgow. "Dida will not make it," Ancelotti told reporters.

    Striking news
The 29-year-old Storari has appeared just once for the Rossoneri since arriving from FC Messina Peloro. Dida's regular understudy, Zeljko Kalac, remains sidelined with a knee problem. There was better news for Milan, however, as Ancelotti has confirmed that Filippo Inzaghi will be available next Tuesday – the veteran striker has not played since hurting his right thigh in the same cup game against Roma. Ancelotti said: "Inzaghi should make it."

    Precaution
Another of Milan's thirtysomethings, midfielder Clarence Seedorf, will sit out Saturday's Serie A visit to AC Siena due to a thigh complaint but should be ready for the Celtic match. "It is nothing serious and he will be OK for the Champions League," explained the coach. The Rossoneri are also likely to be deprived of defenders Alessandro Nesta and Serginho in both meetings with Celtic, that duo having undergone shoulder and hernia operations respectively in December.

    It's confirmed : Dida's out

We kinda knew it for a long time, but a confirmation is always needed...

I don't want to sound dirty, but I can't help but being satisfied with this news.

Good news in the keeping department, but even though Nesta is a big loss Italian clubs are always known for their great defending so they will have a decent cover!

    -------------------- Pirlo -----------------------

    --------- Gattuso -------- Seedorf --------------

    -------------------- Kaka -----------------------

    --------------- Gilardino - Oliveira ----------------

if yous play that yous will be ruled down the wing by naka naylor and wilson probably riordan to but celtic scored most of their goals from crosses from the wing so celtic will be playing wide and yous as you say will be playing narrow.

no genuine pace bud:50: apart from kaka..

cant see u lot troubling us too much at paradise..no wingers either so wilson and naylor will have plenty of chances 2 overlap and get balls in for jvoh and beattie

Erm, Oliveira's faster than Kaka Janku + Cafu always play as wingers..Yet they never seem to get caught out either, don't consider yourselfs to be the exception as Naka's not fast enough to catch Janku out. Don't know who you're other wing is though.

He can, but not Kaka kind of magic...Heres something to think about..Nakamura was a VERY average Seria A player. I don't doubt his ability. But Milan are a Serie A team and he was not so spectacular in Serie A.
Sorry in advance for any triple or quad posts..but theres been alot said since i was here.:celt_2:

Yeah, but he had a hard time in Italy though. Apparentley he was getting racial abuse at Reggina, so he couldn't have played at the best of his ability when he was depressed. He is playing the football of his life, IMO, at Celtic, and he'll want to tell the Serie A what they're missing.

    Gilardino.

Yea though i'll always say it's won 2 lost 2 as there's no way in * Sheva fouled Puyol the last time we played the Ref even got a ban for his injustice. The one he scored had nothing to do with Gattuso btw and his assist well he was just outclassed on that one.
Gattuso's not been "utter crap", he's been far from it. Do you just assume this or have you watched Milan? He's been our best player this season, perhaps except Jankulovski. I don't see why you all doubt Jankulovski as a left back, he's up there with the best. He's better offensively than defensively but he's still a very capable left back.
To however it was that asked about Kaladze. He was a left back, but got moved into CB due to Maldini's injury..Turned out to be a good move as he + Nesta formed the best defensive partnership in Italy not really performed much this season due to a niggling injury which he's only just got over.

He's techically a very gifted player..I consider him up there with our very own Pirlo in terms of what he can do with the ball.
Kaka's scored 5 in the CL, and i think it's the same in Serie A. Gila's scored 7 in Serie A and 1 in CL.

we don't really play wingers bud:50: ...naka and mcgeady/riordan cut inside a lot and ur main problem will come from naylor and wilson overlapping and whipping crosses in for jvoh and beattie..
we will put u lot under pressure from the first minute and italians always crumble 2 the pressure game when on british soil..

whats the stats on italian teams v. british sides over the years btw...

not very good i reckon!! check it out for urself!!

    anyways..

    should be a cracker bud!!!!!!!

    hail hail

it waz me asking about kaladze:50:

hes average at best and will get the shock of his life when beattie and jvoh ruffle his feathers lol.

milan always play a boring tactical game ...only problem for u lot is NOW UR MIGHTY DEFENCE is not as mighty as it used 2 be and we dont concede easily..
ur gonna get a reality check at paradise on tuesday
