I highly doubt singing a pro-British song could warrant ejection from Ibrox - especially someone who is wearing a brit uniform.

Not sure bud, probably someone has been kicked out for saying something which they thought was fantastically acceptable i.e stabbing Lennon or something

i think it's quite saddening that individuals like yourself are ashamed or embarrassed by our clubs history. it seems to me that the media's brainwashing coverage, of trying to tarnish celtic's supporters on a par with rangers has worked on some.

I like how you started off by saying "this doesn't mean we're better fans" then made this your main point in many subsequent posts. The 2000 odd that go to away games IS NOT THE * MAJORITY OF CELTIC FANS. How many sing them at Celtic Park? Hardly any. You can get the stadium rocking to Just Can't Get Enough, can you do the same with Roll Of Honour? Can you *.

Thank you. I don't agree with any of the songs being banned, I just wish people would move the * on and stop singing them of their own accord.

How is it catholic v Protestant? I think youll find I never mentioned a thing about religion. Why support an Irish club that is proud of it's history and choose to sing songs about it? You must have noticed for years theses songs being sung and said hmmm I might support that club, choose to sit in it's support, yet have a strong disagree to the songs they sing and what they stand for.

It's stupidity to the highest level that someone can be so pessimistic and have such a strong hate for there teams own support. As explained the vast majority of the club are pro these songs! And yes it might be in the past but as said... If you know your history!

Also, the Ten Brave Men who gave there lives for freedom... May your souls cry out "REMEMBER!". So if we sing the ten brave men you will tale serious offence about the support singing a song in recognition to the brave young men who gave them life for human rights because you would rather it didnt get mentioned and they would just be forgotten about because it's in the past so let it be?... In fact screw it boys and girls, let's stop singing national anthems and teaching history in school of world wars past because... It's all in the past! Might as well not mention it or keep years of oppression in light because it's over now!

i see it differenetly from you. if the majority wanted the singing to stop, it would stop. if people don't want to sing them then they don't have to, but it seems to me that those arguing against the singing are surely in the minority, or we wouldn't hear rebel songs blaring over the television every other week? all i'm saying, is it sounds to me when i'm at games or watching on tv is that a sizeable majority of the celtic away support or even at hampden are singing the songs.

you really are a bit clueless aren't you!

If it is 'legally' banned from a sporting ground - then it will be classed as illegal.

If it is illegal, you are not allowed it on public house premises.

Anyway, to those telling me to 'move on' and calling us 'knuckle-draggers'...

My simple reply if any of you told me this at the game (if indeed any of you do actually frequent Celtic games, wouold be * OFF.

What does singing have anything to do with folk kicking a ball around? I could easily say the same not a thing so why do it? We might as well sit in silence.

I suppose it’s the same everywhere you go, you will always get a segment of people who are easily influenced by populace opinion or tabloid sensationalism – no matter how erroneous it is.

This thread wasn’t specifically about Celtic songs which are deemed inappropriate, it was about 'offensive chanting' in general.

'Offensive' is a conveniently ambiguous term that is all encompassing, because literally anything could be offensive; including many pro British pro Loyalist songs - but this is often ignored because 'offensive chanting' is merely a guise of equivalence.

And as usual, some people just cannot engage in any type of reasonable debate without resorting to the usual 'awk gonny stop singing IRA songs man, it makes us pure sectarian lookin' :87:

To some it's a family proud of it's ways and history... By the looks of it to others it's just people "kicking a leather ball around"
