Amazing we're somehow going to end up losing money on this guy.

Not necessarily. It's worth speaking to them if, for example, he can convince them to sign new deals with the understanding they will be sold next year, and he gets them to buy into the idea that he can improve them as players and if they perform in his team the way he wants us to play they are likely to get much better moves than they will if they go right now after that * show of a season.

I doubt he will be able to convince either of them, but it's certainly worth speaking to them about it.

I don't think it will make any difference to both wanting to leave but equally I have no problem with Postecoglou having that conversation. Always better to have a conversation face to face so everyone is on the same page and there are no misunderstandings that create issues.

To be honest, I can't see Eddy getting a better move than Leicester. Top 6 team in the EPL is a good move for him. Milan/Inter are clearly bigger names but I can't see them competing financially with Leicester. Same goes for Ajer. Newcastle are a big club, ran * but they have cracking potential. However, Leverkusen is a great move for him.

Nonsense, everyone would have went mental last Summer if he was sold before the 10 season with or without him extending his contract

Thought Leicester had already distanced themselves from a move for him. As you say though a move to Germany could be good if they are after him.

Not me mate! If we'd have gotten the kinda £30M type fees that we're being banded about I'd have snapped it up... That's about £25M to get replacements into the team and strengthen up. We could have gotten 2 Eddy standard signings in for that and still let our greedy board pocket a slice... Only issue I might have had was that it would've been Lennon 2020 making the transfers

I disagree mate, look at the way Eddy had finished the previous season before lockdown, he was on fire, everyone was feeling confident that should Eddy remain the 10 was as good as won, most of the support (including myself) would have went mental had he been sold before the 10 season.

Plus most teams were curbing their spending during that Summer with the whole Covid situation, added to that PSG have a massive clause in his deal, we're going to make hardly any money on Eddy when he goes when you consider what we paid for him and the clause PSG have in his contract. Replacing Eddy wouldn't have been easy either, he's the best overall standard of striker we've had since Larsson in my opinion, that type of quality doesn't come by very often these days on our budget.

The deal with Leicester went sour apparently due to Celtic being difficult. They have signed Patsun Daka instead. Reports are that Celtic are being difficult with the Ajer deal as well.

It's also worth speaking to them because surely the other players would expect him to if he's genuine about building the best possible team with the best possible quality. Ange is cut from very different cloth to your standard manager and (by all accounts) an exceptional motivator. I suspect neither Eddy nor Ajer will have ever spoken to anyone quite like Ange and maybe one or both will be interested enough to want to experience the journey - or at least give it a try.

Bearing in mind that their agents may well be pushing them towards big fresh deals elsewhere, I see this as an early test of Ange's mettle in the cut-throat Euro-world. The football will be a piece of * for him but these sorts of negotiations will be the major learning curve.

Difficult? Oh you mean wanting a good fee from a rich team and not £10m less than required? Hmm, want celtic players, pay the price.

Celtic like cold hard cash upfront whilst their own targets they try to do in installments

I don't think he downed tools to be honest, like most of the team they were under dreadful management and probably lost of a bit of desire and fight to win. It was a bad season all round, i think its time for him to move on though unless he has a true desire to stay which I doubt.

Leicester just paid 23 mill for Patson Daka so I don't think it was the money. Apparently Celtic kept moving the goalposts.
It will be interesting to see where he goes & for how much.
