Question is, if McGregor can't play for whatever reason who replaces him at DM? Iwata was our only pure DM.

 

Would much rather keep Iwata and get Holm out on loan. More beneficial for us long term.

 

Thought he was at his best at CM. Fair enough then.

 

If Engels is a better 6 than McGregor, he needs to play there in the CL.

 

Yeah, my thinking because the reality is Mcgregor isn't really a DM anyway is he. If you wanted you could probably play Palma as an AM too, if we were short.

 

Also very good as box to box by looks of it, double pivot of Engles and Calmac in CL with Hatate roaming in front….oofftt.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if both of them play just in front of the CBs with Hatate in front.

 

Think both will play there. Rodgers spoke of wanting to play Iwata in beside Cal last year but he was never fit.

Here's the rule.

• Who’s exempt?

Players aged 21 and younger and club-trained players (those who have spent three seasons with their current club between ages of 15 and 21) can be loaned outside of the limit, but both conditions must be met. For example, a 22-year-old club trained player and a 20-year-old foreign player who has only been with the club two years would each take up one of those eight* spots.

*this is from the 2022-23 season. The limit gradually dropped to 6.

Our 6 outgoing loans are Bernabei, Tilio, Murray, Kwon, Oluwayemi and Lager. Murray is homegrown, but he's barely over 21.

 

Murray won't count as he's under 22 though

 

Murray is 21 so is exempt.

 

Not sure mate. The way I understand it, players over 21 (let's say 21 and 1 day) aren't exempt. I may be wrong though.

Almost guaranteed he goes out on loan in January, but it should have been this window.

The wording is weird tho. It's a bit like how players play u21 internationals when they are 22. It's more to do with year groups now. Anyone who has kids playing boys club will know what I mean they are called 2015s rather than u10s it's confusing as *

 

We need 6 tho and somebody has to be 6th

I don't see much between him, Bernardo and Mccowan so if he applies himself properly he may be 4th. It's up to him. The way he should look at it is the manager rates him too highly to send him out on loan and views him as being part of the squad.
