I think this is the case with all sports, I used to play Baseball in School at the 15-17 Age level and this is where the majority of Pro teams do their scouting. I was the 3rd starter which means I was 3rd in line to start a game at Pitcher. I was the best pitcher on the team and i my division but I did not get to play in enough games because the 2 guys in front of me got first priority, in both cases they were either the son or nephew of one of the coaches friends and so they got the 2 most coveted spots in the team even though they were both horrible. In one case a scout for a Major League Baseball team , the Detroit Tigers, actually came up to me and said that if I wanted to be in the Pro League I would need to play more games which I couldnt because our coach was set on using the 2 idiots in front of me.

    Agree with every word 100%

Dont want to say where I work but my application form was put at the top of the pile and the interviewer pointed in the right direction by my wifes boss who also worked there. Not right but the way of the world.

Did Paul Dalglish not follow his dad from Celtic to Liverpool to Blackburn?

This happened to me. I got MOTM 2 weeks in a row and then was left without a strip the 3rd week as the managers nephew joined the team and wanted to play in my position.
My Da was going to kill the manager as his excuse was I was fighting with another player during training , but the * I was fighting was on from the start of the match and I was standing at the side of the pitch  .

Favouritism is everywhere and on all levels. We have all suffered and benefited from it at some stage.
