Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

This is all true except Bernabei he signed on the 30th of June or something like that as was accounted for in the 21/22 accounts.

The time it has taken are probably down to two things.

1. Ange leaving pretty unexpectedly so a lot of work on targets where we were considering spending a good bit of money was probably put on hold until Rodgers had a look at what he wants.
2. The point Ange made before about not knowing who’s going to leave from our squad. That part makes me think there are a few who may have indicated privately if bids come in from say EPL they would like to go. I am not saying it’s like 20/21 again where the players are desperate to leave but if an offer came in like Brighton for Hatate and the fee is acceptable they will probably be away. You could put a good few of our squad in that camp. All be it Maeda and Kyogo signed new deals.

What I hope it isn’t, is that we are failing to attract the calibre of player we are looking for but wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. Getting a certain calibre of player to come to Scotland must be tough. We had that last summer where we clearly wanted Souza as a marque signing but he chose to go to Espanyol in the end. We the didn’t end up with a marque signing other than keeping our two star loan players from the season before.

 

There are easier and harder marquee signings to get. Easier would be K. Nakamura- because we have made our club a great place to be if you're Japanese, and he's never been to a top 5 league. Tete, on the other hand would have no such circumstances, and South American players tend to do poorly at our club. He's also been to the EPL and Ligue 1, meaning that his appetite might be too big for us.

 

Goalie needed. LB and Winger would be nice too. First team ready please

 

This is all true but at the same time we don’t know who is in for Tete, where as we do know that Lille, a team in a top 5 league are in for Nakamura.

I would love to get Nakamura in he would be a great option to replace Jota but I don’t see it happening if Lille are paying over £9m for him.

 

That bid may have been rejected-a Japanese football fan has stated this. Of course, it means we'd have to pay big money, but IMO, not only is Nakamura worth it, he'd also be very likely to quickly agree to terms.

 

I think whoever gets Nakamura will get a very good player, the only thing that may put him off coming here is the full international manager stuff and his disliking of Scottish football.

 

His issues aren't with Scottish football, but with thinking Kyogo wasn't fast, or that Hatate wasn't a team player. He's come round on both issues. Nakamura won't stop being called up if he comes here.

 

Literally announced on the last day. As was Giakoumakis. As previously proven we’re pretty much on par for the amount of signings we have made, compared to recent seasons.

 

Frankly speaking, Rodgers should have enough already to beat Aberdeen and Ross County and I'll take a slightly increased chance of losing at Ibrox for a slightly increased chance of getting the right people in the end. I can't be the only one who thinks that, surely? How long have we been begging the board to build from a position of strength rather than weakness?

We're in with a genuine chance of levelling up here if we get the next few windows right.

It's not that business is on a timer... It's the lack of ANYTHING solid.

We were linked with players that ppl are referencing for WEEKS before hand.

We've been linked with * all in terms of actual first team starters or improvements . Two players that Rodgers denied knowing and the ubiquitous "new manager wants player from old club" link which is clearly fan chat used as clickbait by the rags.

So far, with the exception of the pole, this window appears to have been consumed with checking off names on a list which only purpose seems to be to raise the club's profile in East Asia and Australia, with Rodgers looking increasingly like he doesn't have a scooby who he wants, or has just started the process.

 

Surprisingly calm. Well over a month of the window left. We will be fine.

GK, DL, MC, ML and we are cool - confident it'll happen as the market starts to settle.

 

Dress it up however you want we are at the moment going into the new season with a weaker starting 11.

A week and a bit to go so let's do something. Yes transfer window closes later but our season starts in over a week.

 

Spoke to painter we are still awaiting movement on the CM and winger long game will need to be played

Will target another CB, open to loan/sales for scales and yuki.

Goalkeeper not a priority for this window.

Agree.....some people really panic. And I think its brought on by couple tricky away ties early. And Sevco signing few players.

But we have say 5 weeks to bring in them four players, and if they are staggered out one a week till then, then so be it. Thats the price to pay to get the players we want...We will have more than enough to be top of the league by end of August
