    Cifuentes is indeed a good signing.

    Guys like Lammers and Dessers are quick to be written off based on recent seasons, but playing in Scotland is a different standard than Serie A. I'm not quick to write signings like that off, it's certainly better than what they had last season in comparison to a fat, unfit and uninterested Morelos. Butland a big improvement on McGregor, Cifuentes in place of Kamara etc.

    Again, those guys wouldn't get into our team, but they're definitely an improvement on what they were dealing with last season.

    I'm Celtic through and through but it's very important to be objective and not just write them off as "Rangers are crap, their signings are crap, we'll coast the league...", that's the kind of talk you see parroted all over Twitter.

    Fair enough, think it directly correlates to my initial post about our signings and how only one so far seems to be a direct starting 11 player -- in comparison to our rivals.

    What they envision doesn't have to be true. A player whom they deem to be first team may end up being worse than the player he replaced.

    Correct, all of it is speculation -- all we can go is by what's on paper for now, for us too.

    On paper so far, I'd say we need at least 2 players brought in who can fit into the starting 11 now or at least compete for a place immediately.

    I get that there will be times where comparisons between the 2 squads are made, but talking about individual (hun) players should be reserved for hun chat only. :50:

    Really need to see a LW come in ASAP. The other positions we need to upgrade - GK, LB, CM - still have players from last year who were outstanding, so it's not a worry to start the season with them. But we've lost arguably our best player in Jota and not replaced him. On top of that it looks like Maeda will be starting up top if Kyogo isn't fully fit.

    Unless we see Yang as Jota's replacement, which would be worrying on a whole other level.

    I can't see how we don't sign a left winger. As you've said, our best winger has been sold for a record fee. We're already cash rich. Our second in line or even our last managers main man was starting left wing over Jota. Now he's being lined up as a number 9..

    We have to get at least a left winger of quality in. I still maintain we need a starter either side but can see why left is more urgent..

    Jun will still get plenty game time. So will Abada..

    The others we all know we need. Everyone is saying the same positions. The manager has already mentioned pace, power and ready made first teasers and we haven't overly addressed that yet at all..

    One starting winger of real quality at the very least
    A starting left back
    A starting centre mid
    A starting keeper

    Hopefully ship about 10 non contributors out also..

    I get why Nawrocki hasn't been announced yet, we'll want to stretch out the signings, but I really hope we hear some solid rumours over the next few days.

    GK or LW would be ideal as the next signing, with CM and LB coming later in the window.

    We definitely need to ship some out and replace with better quality.

    Ideguchi
    Welsh
    Scales
    McCarthy
    Siegrist
    Soro
    Ajeti
    Ralston (to a slightly less degree)

    None of them are Celtic quality.

    Thats 7/8 players that could be trimmed from the squad that we wouldn’t miss and could be replaced with a few quality signings.

    Why do we want to stretch out the announcements? The players are already in. Having 5 incomings by this point looks decent. Of course, people want first team starters.

    The Nawrocki transfer came out of nowhere so hopefully that shows the professionalism in our transfer dealings. I ask myself would I be happy with our transfers if Ange was still here and the answer is a resounding yes. Also bare in mind Iwata was player of the year in Japan so hopefully much more to come from him. KT and another a-lister would make it a brilliant window so let's be patient.
