It’s not racist… it’s basically saying a certain countries league or football standard is better than anothers. Or one country has been known to provide more footballing talent than anothers…. That is in no way racist. If you were to completely dismiss a player because they’re Asian then maybe but he’s Judging on the league and football standards, let’s not get too worked up on it.

Firstly some statements in here dumbfound me, it’s probably the sign of the times and the society we now live in, but being slightly older now I think people get carried away with stuff like making racism statements because you say a certain region of the world produces crap players, compared to other regions when it’s just a fact South America has produced most (not all) of the world elite footballers over the last 50 years that’s a fact. They have a dominant football culture compared to other sports in the country a bit like Europe so the development or players gives you a better shot at success.


However this topic was summer transfers and I genuinely believe Brendan will be looking for 3+ players that will walk into the first team and be the main men. I really think we need that to be any good in Europe and the likes of O’Riely Abada, Haska, Maeda, Taylor, Starfelt, Hart, Bernabei all of these guys will be the ones challenging to get in the team and that can only be good for us.

The other challengers now they won’t make squads but I believe we’ll see a lot of players leave towards the end either on loan or permanently.

I will feel bad for some like Hart I think he is giving his all for us and truely likes it here but he just doesn’t have it to make us better.

 

Pretty much my feelings, we all want them sooner rather than later but as long as they appear and get some time in pre-season all good. No need for panic atm that I can see.

 

Has anyone been keeping track of roughly what sort of funds we have available? I’ve seen various figures thrown around.

 

I doubt there will be a fixed amount in transfer fees, it will heavily be based on salaries too.

 

Been concerned for a bit now, but this is starting to get ridiculous, we have wads of cash just now and are signing project players from South Korea and Australia. Why is it again in a position of total strength we aren’t pushing the boat out to distance ourselves from these mutants? Spend the money man.

 

It’s incredibly difficult to persuade a better quality of player to come and ply his trade in Scotland, especially so early in a transfer window. These players tend to have numerous clubs from better leagues (who can also pay more) showing an interest in them and therefore they choose to leave the door ajar for as long as possible to weigh up all their options.

But I’ll say again we need to get players out to make space or we will have guys just sitting in the stands

I'm stepping out of the transfer threads for a bit because its just tedious...people are just too impatient

I'm happy with the direction we are going... I'm happy with the signings we are are making and I'm 100% confident we will make big first team additions..

Why though? We already have a pretty bloated squad. We’ve lost Jota and Mooy and replaced them with two like-for-like players, plus Tillio, plus had a whole gang of loanees return, so we’ve currently got a significantly bigger squad than we did in May.

Would you not much rather wait until say the last week of the window and sign three players of real quality than sign three more “project” types now and not have the squad space when the higher quality may become available? I get that it’s frustrating, but we’ve just got to trust the process.

 

Would rather we got the quality in now. If the player has reservations (which is fair enough) about coming here and is looking to go to other clubs I’d rather not have him. Want players that want to be here as their first option. Someone who sees the benefits of joining us and progressing their career.
