Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

Yeah I think we will bring in another 5 or 6 players with the vast bulk looking to take up one of the places in Europe.

I know that will mean some more players we expect to maybe make that squad will leave.

I'm just hoping we keep hold off AJ, CCV, McGregor, Hatate, Kyogo.

 

With Jota away, this Summer is lowkey looking like another rebuild. If Kyogo and Hatate leave then we basically need to replicate Ange's first Summer, both in terms of quantity and quality.

We need at least five first team players. Yous can argue about whether we need to upgrade on Starfelt or not.

Desperately need a couple of good rumours now..

 

No chance McGregor will go. I think we'll keep AJ and Kyogo. And pray we keep CCV.

I wouldn't include scales, Welsh, mccarthy, Forrest, MJ or the Sheffield Wed boys etc.

But off the 11 listed above assume you'd shift on 4 or 5 off them to make way.

 

Need to get moving now and some serious business done. Could really be doing with a couple of deals for quality players done asap.

 

As it stands with the players now back for pre-season, the squad is weaker now, than what we ended last season with. That's where we are. Talk of biggest budgets, transfer record will be broken twice etc... all mean nothing currently.

Whilst the clubs power brokers and recruitment teams have done well recently, the goodwill only lasts so long if another project player is bought and anymore 1st players go.

Hopefully we have something ready to go in the next week and we kick on from there.

 

I'd keep definitely keep Hart and Taylor as both are excellent back ups. Starfelt too, but doubt he'd stay playing second fiddle to someone else. I don't have faith in Bernabei so I'd sell him or at the very least give him a loan. Kobiyashi is rubbish as well, I'd punt him back to Japan ASAP. Siegrist is pointless and needs to leave.

O'Riley I'd rather keep because I think Rodgers improves him and he's still a great squad option. Undecided on Iwata but I wouldn't lose any sleep if he left tomorrow, he seems like squad filler to me.

Last week I wasn't bothered about Abada leaving; I'd still sell him for 12-15m, but I'm wary of letting him go just now. I love Maeda but I don't see him working under Rodgers, and I'd move Haksabanovic on.

We're already a far weaker side without Mooy and Jota. Our squad really isn't that good as we saw at the tail end of last season. That's why I'm reluctant to keep the likes Kobiyashi, Bernabei, Iwata and Haksabanovic around. Some have shown glimpses but realistically they haven't shown enough to warrant being viable options.

 

Desperate to see us get some proper business done now, we need 4/5 signings of proven quality for me. We should be spending 30-35m in my opinion, but don’t see it happening.

 

Aye I'm now at the point where I'd like to see a bit more movement, it's a bit disappointing that the only rumour so far (outside the SD23 stuff) is for the Korean lad, who I rate, but is another project signing.

A statement signing within the next week, whether that's Rieder, Jashari or Tete, would be massive. Really need to get a CB in and fit for the league campaign, can't be going into it with either Welsh or Kobayashi starting.

so much for building from a position of strength ,we are already much weaker with jota and mooy away we cant be losing any more of our top players .while i think we probably had to switch out a lw for a rw jota is the one of the 6 players in our squad a cut above the rest . think with maeda and haksa we are in no big panic for another lw

 

Aye, right now it's just *. We had bit if a flat finish to the season that, We've lost the manager (but replaced with someone that should be a good choice but potentially changes a lot of the things that made us strong) lost our star winger, other key players all being touted about for potential moves, Carl's Birds away. Our 2 signings so far don't inspire at all really, Tillo is a fairly meh numbered producing Australian prospect that I don't see who he replaces from last season and I'd probably rather have seen Vata play. Odin looks interesting enough as a golden boy shortlist but ehhh.

Need some big positives

 

Pretty underwhelming so far, but it is still early I guess :/

 

So far we are definitely weaker than we were at the start of the window.

I get that we're only in week 2 of it but so far we have lost our manager and one of our best players. We've brought in another decent manager but the two new arrivals are nowhere near Jota's level.

We need to bring in real quality ASAP.

 

This would make me feel calmer. Huge progress in all areas of the squad.

The whispers since January with Abada, no new contract, fresh links to teams like Sporting. Feel he’s going to go as well.

Hatate’s on an edge just now I think, despite the reassuring words of his agent, that can just make a higher offer appear. Or we could make a contract offer better than he’s on.

I hope to * we can persuade Abada, sign one more year. Be our man next year, step up into Jota’s role. I believe he can, he could probably eclipse his numbers whilst not being as much a maverick. And leave to somewhere at a higher level, he’s linked to a high level, so the ones just a bit higher than that will be looking as well but not wanting to go there quite yet.
