Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

Barkas has gone, I figured Ideguchi was until end of J league. I think Montgomery and Scales will at worst get other loans out, Soro might get a transfer as he had an ok season. The others will likely get loans again and only 1 more year of Ajeti.

 

It's a 25 man squad with 8 "locally trained" 4 of which need to be at least trained at the club, all of which between the age of 15-21 and for a minimum of 36 months in that period.

So it's 17 players we can have that do not fit the criteria, although if we are only able to field 7 players that meet "locally trained" then the overall total of the 25 man squad is reduced by 1, Meaning it becomes a 24 man squad, with still 17 players who are "foreign"

With jota going and McGowan suggesting that Rodgers will get the profit to reinvest, summer has got even more crucial.

 

Aye, retaining Kyogo and Hatate looks crucial if Jota is off..

Otherwise our strengthening becomes a bit of not welcome rebuild.

 

I know our position in the food chain now but proper annoying when trying to build on a position of strength that it seems every other * off..

We can't afford to lose a few of our key players in one window at the start of the new managers tenure..

 

Wish we could fast forward to the end of the transfer window. Used to love them. Despise them now. So many * being itk.

 

If Jota does move on we are on the hunt for a quality left winger as well.

This window is giving me the fear.

We need to get the recruitment right this summer.

If Jota is sold for a large fee like 25/30 million, then we better be giving Rodgers something like 40 million, the Jota money and what ever he was promised previously.

 

It feels like we're gonna need more work than the manager initially mentioned/thought..

For me we already need

A starting right winger
A pacey, overlapping, strong starting left back
A dynamic box to box 8
A commanding, ball playing keeper to come straight in or at least be eased in to taking over from Hart
If Jota goes (which is suddenly looking likely) then we'll need a starting left winger in of real quality

That's 5 possible starters if Jota goes. Could be more first teamers away as well..

Then we 100% need more centre halves in to the squad
Could arguably need a big 6 also
Possibly another option up top

Jota is one I didn't wanna lose this summer..

 

Was expecting one big player sale this summer tbh, but I had Jota down as the most unlikely.

Can't afford to lose either Kyogo or Hatate even if it's for silly fees, I'd be very reluctant to let Abada go either.

Not worried about incomings just yet, it's not even July yet, but a few solid rumours wouldn't go amiss.

 

Rodgers doesn't have a good track record at any club when it comes to reinvesting big profits

 

The only difference is our recruitment side is much better now so we'll be putting quality players infront of him to give the go ahead..

 

This is turning into a rebuild rather than simply adding a few bits of quality.

 

Really hope so mate.

Don't think we'll get another box to box midfielder unless one of Mooy/O'Riley leaves tbh. I would like another one there but with Holm signing it's looking a bit crowded currently.

100% need a GK, LB, CB. LW and RW, with ideally no more outgoings.

 

So GK, LB, CD, DMF (big * preferably), RW, LW, a 10 and another CF all required.

Plus rid of some fringe players.

A lot more to do than we wanted. Don't let us down Celtic.
