Hatate and kyogo are definitely off, maybe even maeda so that’s a good £30 mil at the minimum there just on player sales. You could even add into it the sums we’ll get for 10+ fringe players, although the sales won’t be much. They’ll all add up to something

I want in no particular order

A commanding keeper who can play out. I see that Kelleher mentioned a lot but he looks dreadful at actually saving shots..

A pacey, powerful, overlapping left back to walk in to the side..

A couple of dominant centre backs who can challenge or ar least fill in competently..

A couple of athletic midfielders in the middle. At least 1 of them to be able to go beyond as a box to box 8..

A classy right winger, preferably left footed to walk straight in to the side..

That's at least 7 to come in...could be more as we'll sell players and could be on the lookout for a couple of strikers..

 

I want all these things too.

What I would say though, is that despite all this talk of a big budget, I'm happy to have an Edouard, CCV, Jota type loan arrangement but with a higher ceiling. So if they come in on loan, as opposed to brought in permanently, I'm fine with that as we don't have to committ immediately but if the asking price is 12m at the end of the loan and the player is proper quality like those I've mentioned then I want the club to agree to it.

 

I definitely think we'll see a couple of loan to buys

GK -Luiz Junior from Famalicao

LB - David Jurasek - Slavia Prague (can also cover LCB in a back three).

CB - Yann Aurel Bisseck (AGF Aarhaus) and maybe loan to buy of Austin Trusty (Arsenal)

CM - mentioned him on player suggestions before but Mohamed Kaba of Valenciennes, is a box to box monster in the making and would make us a fortune when the time came to sell him on. He’s a unit, however has good feet, is press resistant and pops up with the odd goal and assist too.

Another worth a look from Benfica B is Martim Neto, has been compared in style to Kevin De Bruyne, is another over 6 foot capable of going box to box but more an elegant player. He is showing as out of contract too. Also just saw Ndidi linked, I can’t see it but if there’s any chance then yes please.

RW - Gustav Isaksen at Midtjylland looks a player of serious talent, another who is likely out of our price range is someone whose been here before Timothy Weah, has a year left on his Lille deal and wants a move. He has oddly been used by his club as a full back/wing back this season. However, I think there would be some big competition for him.

Quality over quantity always.

However, I think if we lose a few, then we are going to be upping the numbers we bring in.

As it stands I'd like a dynamic number 8 in the Edouard, CCV, Jota mould- by which I mean, proper high quality. If that means loan option first then so be it as long as we get a purchase option.

I'd also like a quality LB, quality CB to partner CCV, another quality winger better than Maeda, and a quality GK.

That's 5 players at the very least.

 

Thought I'd bump this instead of making a new thread. With Holm signed and Tilio all but signed, I'd say we need the following this summer, at minimum.

Obviously if anybody leaves they'll need replaced, but we should be spending a fair amount on the above. I'd like another winger and another 8, but I suspect we'll need to move players on first (Mooy retires, Abada, Johnston and Turnbull leaving the most likely)

Some of the players we are linked with at the moment is really disappointing and underwhelming if I’m honest.

Still waiting to see this real quality that he spoke about.

 

Big names will come in, we may have had plans for certain players and Rodgers wasn't so sure. I'd give it a couple of weeks.

 

Still very early days but I am a wee bit concerned with the standard of player we've been linked with so far. Odin seems a good signing and one who i think will prove to be an important player but none of the others linked have really excited me.

Isn't a chance we're signing k league wingers and a league wingers together..

There might be one, but even at that you'd imagine they'd go out on loan first..

The quality will come.....I'm sure of it..
