Yeah I think there is a real risk of things getting toxic real quick.

Imo Rodgers has been lied to and let down by the board already. His ego won't allow him to take the blame for pumpings in champions league and to protect himself I think he'll throw the board under the bus. Already seen signs with him distancing himself from the recruitment side of things.

 

Rodgers knows the board very well. If he came back without getting assurances for transfers he is the moron. Would be a level of naiviy that's not acceptable for a guy that earns millions a year. Looks like he's fine with this strategy and just talked BS in his first interviews with all the settling up for Europe pish. I really don't know why he was so eager to take the job. He is not getting the backing to improve and that was the exact same reason why he left the first time. I surely wouldn't go back to an employer that didn't met my ambition the first time around

Think you are giving Iwata a hard time there. Never really had the opportunity. Welsh should have went somewhere else and actually played. Never getting a game now.

 

It's a bit strange that he's had zero game-time since he joined. You'd think he'd have got some minutes against County or St Johnstone at home.

He was signed by a guy who loved bringing in Japanese players and could barely get a sniff in midfield. And he’s shown nothing when he has played.

I was buzzing about the signing of Iwata but it’s not working out.

Remember how much cheaper it was to be a fan 20 years ago. 2 shirts at £40 each. Much cheaper season tickets. Not needing 5 different streaming services to watch a game. Weird how fans spending has gone up but our transfer dealings haven't.

 

You could well be right, but always thought he was pitched as similar to McGregor and that being part of why he got less game time or was only played out of position.

Given McGregors performances so far I can see Iwata maybe getting more of a chance this season.

 

Probably not in the CL squad as we have so many non homegrown players, still, too early to know after only 45mins of a testimonial.

 

I think my issue is CDM's a position we've needed for the last 10 years, so to sign a K2 league player for said position was baffling.

At the same time, maybe Iwata being an obligation to buy made things more difficult? Would be a bit unfair on him to bring an experienced CDM in after signing him, albeit sometimes you need to be that ruthless.

Hopefully Kwon comes good and smashes it.

 

I'm saying they have a place in the squad and dropping them out of it makes no sense and would only weaken us.
