We do create an unbelievable atmosphere, but * me it would be good to be known for the quality of our football..

 

Id be saying it for a team that effectively gifts goals to teams year on year on year..

 

This is the second transfer period we regressed big time! Jenz, Juranovic, Giakoumakis, Jota, Starfelt, Mooy all gone within the past 8 months.

And this in a period where we have money in the bank! And lots of it, certainty to plan too since we are in the champ lg propper... How can this be that we witness such a * show? Even if we sign 5 tomorrow, in our position they should and could have been here 2/3 weeks ago!

 

The thing that angers me is the lack of organization and planning with regards to transfers. Choosing to be stingy is one thing, but we could have all of our planned incomings be done by August 10th every year, and not enter this * period where we pay more than we want to due to panic (and we know our board hates paying money). There's no sense in waiting for options to open up given our preferred transfer fee ranges. We could've bought Palma a month ago- he's not a Podence or Fraser in terms of finances.

The sad thing is that our fans only vent their anger if we lose the league. Only then would there be protests and threats. So, unless that happens, there won't be a reform. The problem is: if Rangers start getting really strong (because we flop this season), they will spend everything they have and don't have, and go back to the position of strength from their 9IAR run.

 

I shouldn't be surprised but it's unbelievable that we've still got no one in the door..

TBH, tactics have to do with that a lot, and the majority of fans want a Deila, a Rodgers, a Postecoglou etc. over the likes of Moyes, Clarke, or Ranieri. The board don't give us flashy signings, but they typically give us managers who favor keeping possession over drilling a defense to stand firm in Europe. Lennon was the only exception, but he was a club legend, so...

 

WHAT IN THE * IS GOING ON???!!!???!!??

 

I was shocked a week or 2 ago but to be honest it's sunk in now, the club has no ambition. It shouldn't be like that but the problem is I've seen it so many times before. A prime example is 2018-19, we signed Edouard for 9m but he was already here, Bain who was already here, Izzy who was crocked by that point, Molumbo and with Arzani and Benkovic on loan. 21-22 where we signed 7 players the whole season, 4 of them on loan none with a buy agreement (not that any of them were worth keeping but that's not the point).

 

Since the January transfer window we have brought in around £47m (say £40m the time we gave Benfica their cut of the Jota money but also doesn’t count the add ons in the JJ and GG deals) and to date we have spent about £20m.

 

Everybody wants players in as early as possible, but setting arbitrary deadlines like this is absolute nonsense, how many players that have been great for us in the past would we miss out on if we stopped signing people after august 10th every year? And it's not a case of oh well we'd have just signed all the same players earlier, it doesn't work like that in the real world, players and agents have more power than ever and won't be dictated to in transfers like that, they move when they want to.

We badly and desperately needed a left back though. I've given up on a keeper..

Still zero links to LB, really worrying, albeit the Phillips stuff came out of nowhere so I assume that'll be the same.

Palma, Phillips LTB, Bernardo LTB, LB and ST is the minimum we need for tomorrow. Wouldn't be too bother.

Keeper will be for January, club obviously think Hart is good enough until then, I disagree but hopefully the big man proves me wrong.

But the later we go for a player, the harder it gets, because the selling club can dictate terms. Seriously, if we're not going to stop being stingy, might as well get all our projects in very early, and have a gelled squad on time. This way, we don't even have that, but also, no big signings. Deadlines are important, and organized people set them. Then again, I'm not the best qualified to talk about organization, given I have attention and focus issues due to a hole in my brain. But some people take big money at Celtic while failing to set up procedures and plans, and execute them.

 

Can't imagine Phillips will be a loan to buy. Probably just a 6 month loan..

Nearly 2 weeks since Killie beat us and manager said he wanted more in… we’ve signed no one.

Failed to strengthen from a position of strength once again.

CL football, proven pathway to EPL, massive fan base, chance to win trophies, should be able to pay good wages.

No reason we can’t attract good players IMO
