By all accounts he's on between 50-60k a week in Turkey, and that's without tax, would be hard to match.

 

Great to see some progress on a signing but will feel underwhelmed until the power has been added to the team that BR wanted 2 months ago. The fact that's unlikely to be done shows that the board/recruitment team have failed to meet any targets. Surely all can see a LW/LB adds to the team but doesn't fix our weaknesses.

 

It's our usual MO bar the Ange spell. Leave the important signings to last minute so we are relieved to just have signings rather than complain about the lack of spend. This is what has cost us CL qualification previously. Ideally we'd have players early and up to speed by now with the hun game coming up but like CL qualification previously we are sacrificing success to operate on the cheap

GK obviously isn't a priority for Rodgers in the same vein as it is for us. We've had multiple ITK scoops stating a GK wasn't actively looked at, and a Croatian journo stated we never contacted Dinamo or Livaković's agent. There were murmurs about Siegrist leaving, and a GK bought in that case.

Contrast this to the CB position, where we were very swift to act. CM-s and wingers were done even earlier, but it has to be said they might have been in the pipeline before Ange left. Palma seems to be on his way to Glasgow too (unless I've misunderstood the news?), so we have shown an ability to go for a player quickly, when we want to.

So when Rodger’s was interviewed after Killie and said it’s time for match winners and quality he really meant 1 winger and a LB.

Happy with Palma but this has been a grim summer.

 

Only thing I'll say is TheRepublican himself said we were actively scouting a GK, so I still have hope well get one in, either that or Siegrist is already gone.

 

Aye, we definitely need a GK.. if we don't we'll be embarrassingly flapping to get one in Jan.

 

I get that Hart is on the decline but the more I think about it I would rather we got a new number 6 with some steel instead. Calmac is not suited to this role, kwon is no where near ready.

We saw how the Huns are trying to bully teams, foul after foul and spl refs won't do anything to help us.

It is a shambles trying to shift a back up keeper before bringing in someone. We have already sold two keepers and loaned out a third this summer.

It is so tinpot, Hart will be going soon is it beyond our ability to go and sign a decent keeper to come in and take the number 1 spot.

 

Is Siegrest *? I’ve never seen enough of him in a Celtic shirt. I have it in my head he’d be our best option currently. Still needs upgraded obviously but wouldn’t mind giving him a go tomorrow.

 

The fact that we seem to be uninterested in signing another midfielder, and to a lesser extent seemingly content with Hart remaining number 1, is absolutely criminal.

This window will come back to haunt us. Definitely in Europe anyway. But even domestically we're taking a chance.

 

This will be one of the worst windows in the club's history.

Never any real attempt to push on.

Content to let the squad get weaker.

Shopping in the same price range as the Huns.

No wonder we're a constant embarrassment in Europe.
