I keep telling myself surely the board know if there's no signings ready to step into the 1st team the fans reaction to it won't be good.. especially after telling us we are loaded. If they let us down then I'll think they're in bed with those * over at Ibrox making sure we can't get too far ahead so will gift the odd title to them.

While a GK, LW and LB would be welcome, provided they are quality. If that's all we add, then it's still a poor window. Those positions should have been sorted weeks ago.

More alarmingly, we're still very very light in midfield. Only McGregor and Hatate are proven quality. That's simply not good enough. We really struggled last season when Mooy and Hatate got injured around the same time, leaving us with problems in the 3-2 Hun game and the semi final. Yes we won both, but the midfield was well below par. We simply don't have enough quality in there. I thought that would have been one of the priority positions this summer even if Mooy hadn't retired.

 

When he mentioned pace and power or whatever he said, i was sure he was on about a centre mid..

We're still waiting on the pace and power regardless..

Would be nice to get it at left back and centre mid..

A quality, game changing type at left wing who can drift in and is mobile. Has to be that sort of type..

Commanding, ball playing keeper who's quick across the ground..

If we get those 3 and a midfielder that are all better than what we have/ready to go straight in....we'll be a far better side..

Particularly when we settle and then start getting some players back like Johnston, Hatate etc..

Identified? What?! * is happening? We've identified targets for GK and LW a week before deadline day?

I honestly assumed we'd already be in negotions with a few different ones and that perhaps one or two deals had fallen through and our remaining first choices were stalling. We've really just identified them?

Well I'll wait and see if this guy is as in the know as much as everyone says; but if he is, I will need to retract most of what I've spent the few weeks saying. Looks like the Prof's feeling that something wasn't right was on the money.

It's like that guy in the days before mobile phones that was always running late and you made excuses for him, "Oh the traffic must be bad. Maybe his train was cancelled. I hope nothing has happened." etc. And everyone would be getting more and more stressed and eventually it got so late that you had to decide to whether to cancel whatever it was and go home or go on without him, but you would find a call box and call his home just on the off chance and he'd be all relaxed and happy and like, "I'm just leaving now." as if nothing had happened.

No, but, I mean, all joking aside: it is pretty shocking if it's true. Even if this window now goes well, I've lost confidence in the assumption that we've finally got our proverbial together.
