Need 7 first team players if we want to win the league.

Well we started the meaningless game the other day without 6 first team regulars so we only need one.

    Result.

    Scale of the rebuild needed...

Does anyone on here know any other Tim that spouts that * after winning the league in our slippers but losing a dead rubber with a makeshift back four and missing 6 regulars?

It was the ‘needed to win the league’ that done it. CL he might have had a point but even then..

Pishing your frillies and thinking we need to rip it up and start again after a double and potential treble that done.

Either at the wind up or my aforementioned monumentally stupid.

Some people on here absolutely live for a Celtic defeat, but it’s become so rare that when it does happen they can’t help but use it.

    They look * stupid though.

Been the same for a decade or more. Same people no doubt. Dr Jo.

Definitely need some physicality and height through the team. A centre back more comfortable on the ball than Starfelt would be a massive help and someone that can play in front of the defence to allow McGregor to play further forward or beside him.

I like Starfelt. Might be old fashioned but I like my defenders to defend and he does it well.

Deffo some steel in the middle of the park though.

Would love to see Ange mix it up a bit, a Wanyama type beside Cal in the 6. For the CL anyway, not domestically.

LB to challenge Taylor, New CB assuming we don’t lose any. DM. Right winger and striker.

Supplementing our all conquering squad and creating competition for places, not ripping it up and starting again.

The problem is games where teams just stand off him because they know he's pretty hopeless in possession. Backs to the wall, he's great.

I think a Wanyama type would be ideal domestically as well. Few times this season, although we've won, we've been bullied in the middle of the park. Really want to see Iwata start a few games in the dm role with Hatate and McGregor to see how they work together.

I really don’t see McGregor as an 8 though. Don’t see him with the same weight of forward pass in the final third as a Mooy or Hatate. He’s what Americans would call a quarterback. Dictating play from deep but no defensive work needed. Couple of hard working 8s in the mould of Petrov and let the captain dictate play and drop deep to relieve the need for too many dangerous passes.

I don’t think Ange feels the same though and who am I to argue? I think he’ll go gung ho in the CL again and more power to him. He has a philosophy and I don’t think he’s for changing.

Give him the players he needs though and he might just make a success of it.

The same midfield that was found wanting in the Champions League, the same midfield was found wanting again on Saturday. I'm afraid they don't cut the mustard anymore, and one way or another they are getting dismantled.
There are some on here who don't like to face up to reality or hear a few home truths. The are the same, usual suspects who told us all we have to do is turn up and we will win Ten in a Row, ditto for Saturday. They throw potential trebles into the mix like it was a gimme hand grenade, we still have a Cup Final to play yet, with key players still missing, several misfits in the team, and against a team who have seen our weaknesses exposed and will look to exploit them. They don't like the word rebuild, but seven first team players coming in, as is now likely, is a rebuild in anybody's books.Champions League ?, to get there you have to win the league first, so it is vital to retain the league, unless you want to do it the hard way through tricky qualifiers.

The mantra should be changed from " We Never Stop " to " We Don't Stand Still ".

We need some additions to the midfield but it doesn't mean dismantling what's already there.

We've needed power and pace in there for years. Praying we get it this summer. That's whats needed for Europe.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou will make Aberdeen sweat until the summer over the prospect of landing Liam Scales on a permanent deal.

The Dons are keen on snapping up the borrowed Parkhead defender after an impressive campaign on loan at Pittodrie. But Postecoglou has yet to decide on the Irishman’s fate – along with a raft of players who are due to return to the Hoops at the end of term. Keeper Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti, Mikey Johnston, Adam Montgomery, Ismaila Soro, Yosuke Ideguchi, Johnny Kenny, Liam Shaw and Osaze Orhoghide are all under contract at Parkhead until at least 2024 and will check back in following spells away from the club.

Postecoglou is focused on the champions using the remaining three Premiership matches to prepare for the Scottish Cup Final against Inverness Caley Thistle on June 3 as he looks to complete a domestic clean sweep. But he insisted he won’t hang about in making calls about the loan stars when the campaign comes to a close.

Postecoglou said: “We’ll wait until the summer. It’s good to see Liam doing so well at Aberdeen. When you put guys out on loan you hope they get good experience and make an impact. Liam has done that and I know Barry Robson and the club have been really happy with hm.

“But those decisions will be made at the end of the year. We’ll see what’s best for him and the club. The guys will all need some sort of clarity moving forward. We will look at them all on an individual basis. We’ll get to that when the time is right.”

Postecoglou is looking to make room in his squad for new additions and the majority of the loan players could be allowed to go. The Hoops boss has also warned big money bids could come in for his star men – but he’s already plotting in the background for potential replacements.

Postecoglou said: “We’ve already started work. We are not close to signing anyone but it’a about identifying targets. It’s a bit tricky at this point before the summer window because you are not really sure about potential departures as well.

“We’re ready to go and are doing plenty of work in the background. I can assure you anyone mentioned at the moment is definitely not on our radar because we are not at that stage yet.”

Is anybody buying the idiots schtick any more? Just because i entertain his pish doesn’t mean I don’t think he is * at it.

Know why he didn’t last long on other messageboards? Because he can’t be called out on here. Say what you want but you can call a spade a spade elsewhere. It’s a trolls dream on here. Hook a few dafties with outrageous pish then watch as we retaliate by calling you what you appear to be (not what I necessarily think he is) then watch good folk get hunted for reacting.

There is no way an actual Tim believes this *. No way.

We don't need 7 first teamers to retain the league. (Or even necessarily qualify from CL group for that matter.)

    It's no football manager.
It would be nice to just sign a full squad of new players with each one being better than what we already have but that's no happening.

Personally I would be devastated to be on a messageboard where the vast majority of my fellow tims thought I was a troll/idiot/hun. This clown revels in it though.

Drops a grenade, * off comes back, ignores most of it then drops another.

    Rinse and repeat.

Rip up the team, keep Liam Scales.

    I mean really?

No argument we need to strengthen for the champions league, we are up against top quality at that level but that midfield has lost two games domestically all season btw which is an outstanding record. You seem to be implying that the anomaly of a shitshow in a glorified friendly on Saturday is the story of our midfield this season.

Tell ye what though...even though they'd never admit it, the huns would kill for a midfield like ours. Guys who get the job done when it matters no matter how pretty and that's why we are a game away from a treble. We don't need a rebuild, 2 or 3 really good players to supplement the core of our team would take us up a notch.
