Saying our midfield is weak is mental. Strongest midfield in the league by a mile. Mcgregor, Hatate and O riley when all fully fit have shown it along with Aaron mooy. They dominate games. Then you throw in Iwata aswell without even including turnbull, that’s madness hahaha

I'm all for flipping players for profit etc but like all big clubs we cannot afford to lose more than one of our main ones such as CCV, Hatate or Jota. Players like Abada, O'Riley etc can be moved on for a good profit and will be easier to replace than the main players. Wouldn't mind a big tank of a midfielder in the Wanyama mould as long as he had a bit about him technically too but are hard to find. I have every faith in Ange, its the board I worry about let's hope we don't get complacent and stand still.

Ange won't let them stand still or he would walk and how the * do they get the fans back onside

As I have said the potential influx of cash from non player sales coming in is * frightening if it comes off not to mention ange is still in a profit from trading players

Reported figures estimate £32.5m from UCL
    £6m from Asian tour
Potentially £20m from sell on for Tierney and frimpong.

That's before a current player is sold and for the sell on I don't think we would account for that anywhere in the accounts until it happened @Foley1888 wouldn't expect us to make allowances for sell on would you?

I can’t see us counting for sell ons they have to be seen as added extras. At the interims we had £60m in the bank but notes said there was a £9m deficit in the second half of the year between expected instalments for sales vs what we owed.

Since those accounts we sold Juranovic and GG for reported £11m plus £3.3m add ons and given how they have done at their new clubs they seem a certainty to be achieved either by the end of the year or very soon; and committed to buy Oh and Iwata for a combined £3.3m.

I would expect any add ons from previous sales such as Ajer, Christie, Eddy and
    Julien would be above this.

On sell ons it’s impossible to know exactly how much they are worth as there is a lot of variables what exactly is the %? Is it on profit or sale value? These could make a huge difference to what we get. Frimpong looks like being a big earner but say Tierney goes for £30m and it’s just on profit at 15% that’s only £750k.

However, we are likely to make at least a £15m OPEX profit and this seasons player trading will be neutral at worst probably with a positive upside for us as things stand. To bring that in prospective we are about £20m+ better off on OPEX this year to last year due to CL football over EL and the Oz tour plus insurance payment from COVID.

Basically if we do lose some top players the only practical things stopping us doing serious business in the window are wages rather than fees e.g a £9m player comes with bigger wage demands and do they fit the structure and don’t cause unrest and the other is the home grown quota.

I expect the Asian tour at £6m is conservative as it could be worth more @Blochairnbhoy

We simply do not need wholesale changes.

The most aggressive we need to be with the first 11 is arguably with GK and RW (I keep flip flopping between RW and either fullback position but I think RW is needed more)

Hart has done nothing wrong, but we seriously need to be looking for younger, fresher options to take over.

At RW it seems a shoe in we sell Abada so I would we go * for leather in thay position and try our hardest to find a copy of Jota even if means having to commit spending £9+million for the role.

Everywhere else is pretty much sorted, we may need to look at replacements for O'Riley and/or Turnbull and if they can found I would hope they offer a bit more mobility in their styles as I feel there is a genuine imbalance in midfield.

We need probably about 4 signings and only 2 for me really need to be first 11 ready with GK and RW.

3 maybe need to be first 11 ready, depending on what happens with O'Riley next season.

We don't need to be going out and signing upwards of 6+ players every window... it just isn't sustainable and it gives literally no player time to settle and mix with the team and find their feet

Yeah a think the £6m is conservative to say the least.

As you said the fees being thrown about in addons is up for debate but if it is a straight % then it could be tasty

Turnbull amd O'Riley I expect to go in the summer, they may be followed by Hatate too by all accounts.
McGregor is 30 next month. Mooy is 33 in September. Whether we like it or not the midfield will be getting completely overhauled this summer.

We have not been dominating the Hun games in midfield, their diamond 4 with Cantwell as the false 9 is now over running us, made worse by the lack of dominant DM in our side. Iwata is the only one who might fit that role, but we don't know yet going by Ange's reluctance to play him.

If players go then by all means we will need players in and most likely get them but that’s not the case as of now. And mate honestly what are ye on about? Are you basing that literally just off the last game where we rested key players and had 2 other key players out? Because every other match against them this season we’ve been much better than them all across the pitch, mooy had a stinker in one but wasn’t match fit. Don’t be worried too much mate we’re on course for the treble this year and I do believe ange will get players in and maybe some out but nothing drastic needed at all especially in midfield as things stand. You’re 100% over reacting

Midfield can definitely do with a tune up to bring it to that next level but lets no base the overall quality of it on one dead rubber vs the huns.

Ange talking of big players maybe leaving. I think that he'll be talking about fringe players. He talks of all his players as important.
    Mccarthy? Gone
    Turnbull? Gone
    Welsh? Gone
Maybe starflet as there has been rumoured interest.
Maybe a few others out on loan.

Don't see hatate, kyogo, jota, ccv, going.

I don't think people are fully realising the scale of the rebuild that is needed yet. We are basically having to rebuild the spine of the team again, with seven first team players needed, and droves leaving. That is why probably Ange, Nicholson and DD had that huddle together today.
