The amount we have on loan at the moment and won't cut it we need to get rid .
It's really all depends what the board has sanctioned for players and think the first couple of signings will give us a indication how ambitious we are in the transfer window and would love to see a couple of 6 million signings in the summer like a striker and another midfielder.

We are all saying similar stuff
    1. Al the loan players off the books
    2. Abada likely to go
    3. Potentially lose a midfielder either oreily or Turnbull
    4. We bring in a goalkeeper, centre half, a left back, a centre midfielder, with some looking a winger and striker or one or the other.

Ange Postecoglou has admitted some big names could be on their way out of Celtic in the summer – but vowed to work more magic in the market to replace them.

The Hoops boss – who this week picked up his second PFA Scotland manager of the year award – has admitted top stars could leave Parkhead if the club receives tasty bids. But Postecoglou is not concerned as he is determined to keep building a squad to dominate in Scotland and make a mark in the Champions League.

Sources in Hungary have linked Celts with 6ft 4ins striker Eduvie Ikoba after the American rattled 14 goals this season for Zalaegerszegi. Volendam defender Xavier Mbuyamba has also been touted on the continent after the 21-year-old impressed in the Eredivise this year. Postecoglou’s incomings will depend on potential departures, with interest expected in key men such as Liel Abada, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate.

But the Aussie is adamant he can do the wheeling and dealing to make sure his Treble chasing squad will be even stronger next season.

Postecoglou said: “I think it’s fair to say we are in the second year and things are embedded, that includes the core playing group. But that also gives you the opportunity to grow as a team. Part of that challenge will be the more success you have the more likely it will be that some of your players will move on.

"They get the attention of other clubs. We have to be ready to fill those gaps with players who have the ability to take us to another level altogether. So there is always those challenges there.

“Another year you get to the point where there is any great certainty about the team we are finishing with and the team we will be starting the new season with.

“You always go into any window that there is going to be some uncertainty. “Well, I think we are going really well. In every window we have had so far since I have been here we have come out stronger in terms of that squad depth or just having a better quality of player than we had going in and that is what we will try and do.”

Postecoglou has proved to be a master in the transfer market with an incredible strike rate with singings.

The Hoops gaffer had to replace major players such as Scott Brown, Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer and Ryan Christie in his first season – but arrivals such as Kyogo, Hatate, Carter-Vickers, Jota, Daizen Maeda, Aaron Mooy and Matt O’Riley have all become huge heroes for Parkhead punters.

Postecoglou will have a hands on role agains this summer and said: “Look, it’s an important part of my role. I’ve always felt it was an important part of my role, particularly with the nature of the task I had. It wasn’t like I was picking up an established or core group of players. It was a team that needed rebuilding.

“I knew our best chance of being successful with that would be if I had a massive influence over who came into the club, both players and staff. I knew what I wanted, I knew what we needed to look like.

“The club were really good in trusting me with that process. We obviously had success fairly early in terms of our recruiting and I think I gained the trust of people at the club through that.

“Since then, it has worked really well. They have faith the players I identify and bring in are going to enhance our football club.

“I have always found that every year, and I have obviously been doing this for quite a while, there is always a different challenge.

“Last year was about building a team, building some belief, building some trust and faith in me and what we were doing and trying within that context to try and have some success after a year where the football club I was representing went trophyless.

“I knew that I couldn’t do another season like that. We had to have success. “That was a different mindset. This year was more about, well, we have had that success now, people maybe saw it as an unexpected success, but how are the players going to come back, how was I going to push them on to another level I knew we had to go.

“I really felt we couldn’t stand still in terms of our football.”

Meanwhile Celtic have seen off competition from Newcastle, Leeds and Rangers to land Portobello CFA Thistle teenage sensation Filip Skorb.

The highly-rated 15-year-old will hook up with the Hoops Academy set up.

My two cents is that we defo need more pace and power in the middle, I'd like two all round CMs that can provide physicality and athleticism, put the foot in, play their way out of trouble, carry the ball if needed and chip in with goals and assists now and then, not asking for much I know. Another CB because the drop off from CCV and Starfelt seems a bit too great at this point. A left footed RW who has a bit of pace and power and can post good numbers of first team quality, someone similar to Solbakken for example. Another RW who is pacey and direct and can chip in with goals and assists, fine with it being someone younger and a bit raw, even if anyone from the B team is suitable and can also use Maeda,Haksa,Jota there too if needed. Would also be good if one of the RW options can play up top if needed, if not then sign another striker but could always play Maeda there in a pinch but that's only really a stop gap for average domestic level opposition, wouldn't be relying on it long term or in Europe or v the huns.
A left back with good physical and athletic attributes to challenge or rotate with Taylor.
If some or all of them had an aerial presence or could take a good set piece that would be a good help too.
We should also be looking to get names of keepers for next season if Siegrist isn't gonna be any use, think Hart should be fine for this season and if he's looking ropey we could try and bring someone in January.

Be good to get rid of dead wood too and have a tighter squad with more contributors and putting wages to better use.

I like them both but cause of ambition and gametime I could see Turnbull and O'Reilly moving on so we could just use any money towards the replacements I mentioned.
Same goes for Abada and we should get a good wedge for him too.

Had this in my head for a while and especially since Saturday and I'm up late and bored so apologies for the poorly put together dissertation.

Quite glad to hear all this from Ange. Sounds mad but the squad does need a minor refresh. At a club like ours that's necessary every couple of years, as Ange has said, that happens at Ajax, Porto, Benfica etc.

I think we'll see 3-4 first team players leave this summer with lots more squad filler. Probably looking at another 7 or 8 players coming in. Could be an exciting break.

EDIT: I expect the first team players to be Starfelt, Abada, O'Riley and one other - not sure who, think it could catch us by surprise.

We can speculate till we're blue in the face but the fact is we just have to trust Ange to get rid of the dross and replace them with good players.

As said before not nervous about losing players at all except CCV ange will prove to do whats right.

For me all the players on loan will leave again on loan or permanent

    I also expect

    Abada
    O'Reily
    Kyogo
    Hatate

All away this summer too replacing those 4 will be a monumental challenge but one ange will relish

You think Kyogo will leave mate? I'd be shocked at that. I think he'll be here as long as Ange is here.

The other three, aye I think it's very likely. Could be looking at £10m for Abada, £10m for O'Riley and £15-20 for Hatate.

McGregor, Jota, Carter-Vickers, Kyogo. The four players I desperately want us to keep.

And those are the 4 I do not see leaving under any circumstance this summer. Might be blind faith, who knows, but I just don't see it. Any other member of the squad, I wouldn't be shocked.

Aye mate just with Union Berlin sniffing I think it might be too much for him to knock back he will get bundesliga and UCL football.

Offered a new deal about 2 months ago and no movement on it, not knocked back but just wait to end of season chat apparently and with 2 years left on deal I don't see us allowing it to get to 1 year. Wee man loves it here by all accounts.

I've not heard anything about Union Berlin - has that been reported? He was out saying he wants to hit 100 goals for us the other day. I personally think the wee man's going nowhere.

Honestly I wouldn't bat an eye if we lost Abada, O'Riley or Starfelt from the 'first team' - provided we get better replacements (this is imperative).

However, I would be concerned if we lost CCV, Jota, Kyogo or Hatate. In this current team they're pretty much irreplaceable in terms of what they bring to us.

We need to clear out quite a bit this summer

Abada can go, I think he’s lightweight too often and injury has hit him quite a bit

    Turnbull, ditto

O’Reily, I genuinely like this guy, but he needs to learn to put his laces through his shots on goal, sometimes just too pretty and too nice

Haksa, just simply doesn’t have it in big games

Oh, ditto, he’s a downgrade on big huffy pants

Bernebei, he’s never going to make the grade with us

    Forrest - time to retire

McCarthy - if we can find someone to pay a smidgeon of his current wages and he accepts

Loans, stay as or all sold

Japanese contingent need to toughen up big style, simply too nice.

Seven players in, and they all have to be first team ready, and I think we should be looking at a change of system in some games, maybe to 4-3-1-2. We have to adapt and be flexible in tactics, game intelligence and formation if we want to retain the title again next year. Our present midfield is weak, none of the three current protagonists can tackle or break up play, which is a major problem for us. I would be looking at breaking up this midfield, and building a new one all over again.

    You’re * at it.

If we want to win the title next year. * me.

I actually hope you’re at it because if not then it’s some feat to be so monumentally stupid.

If you had said CL then you might have a point, but this pish which is clearly your sneaky way of saying you’re scared of the huns based on a dead rubber.

    Laughable.

Does O'Riley not post some of the best defensive stats for a midfielder in the league? Might be wrong but I think his interceptions and tackles rate very highly.

Anyway, you're wired to the moon.
