Just adding to this - but now ive seen more of him, Belmonte is a no from me. Get the impression he was wrongly identified as the guy we were scouting at Lanus.

His stats are *. Seems like he doesn't have much end product (although I've seen nothing of him)..

5 foot 5 and 21 but doesn't look like he's done anything..

Doubt it'll be us..

 

Then again, my wife's Portuguese and she hates the name Jair. Reason enough for me.

 

Clearly has talent. Very quick and has some skill..

Still though.....don't feel it's a player we desperately need now..

Can play both wing's though and his reel was better than I was expecting..

Wouldn't be surprised if the winger we brought in was another project tbh. We'll shift Johnston this summer, but we already have Maeda, Jota (Pls), Abada and Forrest. I don't think Forrest is good enough personally, but Ange must see him as an option if he's got a 3 year deal.

Could do better than this lad tbh, not a starter for Benfica B (albeit we wouldn't be able to get him if he was).

Abada looks to be really improving and a big player but still want a quality player who can play right wing. A left footed type preferably..

Forrest can stick about the squad and come in here or there..

Forrest won't be contributing much more any longer. Its not like he was pivotal last season, I reckon his best days are long gone.

MJ isn't good or reliable enough to challenge for the first eleven despite having talent.

Abada had an immense debut season but is still pretty raw and will probably struggle for consistency.

Maeda is a pressing machine and gets in good positions to score but isn't really a typical winger. He's like half winger half striker, but his inability to dribble in tight spaces may be found out in Europe.

Jota (if here) is class but we all saw his form drop massively in the second half of the season until the last few games.

That's without mentioning the potential for injuries. From that list Jota and MJ are the only ones who are really good at dribbling past players as well. So yeah, we need more options there.
